On October 18th, we welcomed the students from Rybnik (Poland) as part of our Erasmus+ project. The entire educational community received them at Alberg Perú to enjoy a day full of reunions, activities, and surprises. To finish off the morning, we were able to taste our traditional Valencian paella.
From that moment on, a week full of learning, coexistence, and interculturality began.
El dia 18 d’octubre vam donar la benvinguda a l’alumnat procedent de Rybnik (Polònia) dins del nostre projecte Erasmus +. Tota la comunitat educativa els va rebre a l’Alberg Perú per a gaudir d’una jornada de retrobaments, activitats i plena de sorpreses. Per a rematar el matí vam poder tastar la nostra paella valenciana.
A partir d’aquest moment començava una setmana plena d’aprenentatges, convivència i interculturalitat.

On Sunday the 19th, we started the day by visiting the town’s bell tower, known as one of the symbols of our village. Afterwards, we headed to our school so they could get to know it.
In the afternoon, they went on a short walk to discover the natural beauty of Pou Clar.
El diumenge dia 19 vam començar el dia visitant el Campanar de la Vila, conegut com un dels símbols del nostre poble. En acabar ens vam dirigir a la nostra escola per tal de que la conegueren.
Ja per la vesprada van fer una xicoteta caminata per tal de que descobriren la bellesa natural del Pou Clar.

This was the first day the students from Rybnik were able to enjoy our school in full operation.
Our batukada group was in charge of welcoming them, followed by the giants and cabets dance performed by the 6th-grade students.
Throughout the morning, they carried out several activities. The first was a musical instrument workshop, where they had to make drums, bells, and rattles using recycled materials. Afterwards, they created a dictionary in five languages with the words we use most in our daily lives.
Before lunch, they drafted a podcast related to endangered animal species.
In the afternoon, the 6th-grade students and the exchange students decorated a reusable sandwich holder.
To end the day, we shared a small demonstration of traditional dances and popular games.
Aquest va ser el primer dia on l’alumnat de Rybnik va poder gaudir de la nostra escola en funcionament.
La nostra batukada va ser l’encarregada de donar-los la benvinguda, donant pas al ball dels gegants i cabets representat per l’alumnat de 6é.
Al llarg del matí van realitzar diverses activitats. La primera consistia en un taller d’instruments musicals, on tenien que confeccionar tambors, campanes i sonalls fent servir materials reciclats. Després van elaborar un diccionari en cinc idiomes amb les paraules que més utilitzem en el nostre dia a dia.
Abans de dinar van fer l’esborrany d’un podcast relacionat amb espècies animals en perill d’extinció.
Ja per la vesprada l’alumnat d 6é junt els alumnes d’intercanvi van decorar un portaentrepans.
A l’última activitat del dia vam compartir una xicoteta demostració de balls i jocs populars.

To bring them a little closer to our culture, we visited Bocairent with its medieval charm. We walked through its old town and visited the Covetes dels Moros with their impossible routes. It was a very enriching experience.
We had lunch together in a local park, and upon returning, we headed to Alberg Perú to carry out a workshop on footprints of endangered animals.
Per tal d’acostar-los un poquet més a la nostra cultura vam visitar Bocairent amb el seu encant medieval. Vam passetjar per el seu casc àntic i varem visitar les Covetes dels Moros amb les seues rutes impossibles. Va ser una experiència molt enriquidora.
Vam compartir l’hora de dinar a un parc del poble i al tornar ens vam dirigir a l’Alberg Perú per a realitzar un taller sobre petjades d’animals en perill d’extinció.

At our school, we carry out an environmental education project related to native living beings that are endangered or vulnerable. The school from Rybnik took advantage of our project to expand their environmental knowledge about ofegabous and triops, since they also work on a similar project in their country with their own species.
Thanks to the connection between both projects, we were able to have a technician from the regional government visit CEIP Lluís Vives and explain the characteristics of triops and ofegabous in English, which was very enriching for both students and teachers. We also carried out an activity related to the school garden, where we planted winter vegetables and explained the composting process used to fertilize the garden. In the afternoon, they built nesting boxes for native bird species.
A la nostra escola portem a terme un projecte d’educació ambiental en relació amb els éssers vius (autòctons) en perill d’extinció o vulnerables. L’escola de Rybnick va aprofitar el nostre projecte per ampliar coneixements ambientals relacionats amb els ofegabous i els tripos, ja que ells, també porten a terme un projecte semblant al seu país amb les seues espècies.
Gràcies a la relació de tots dos projectes vam poder aconseguir que un tècnic de la Conselleria acudira al CEIP Lluís Vives i explicara les característiques dels triops i dels ofegabous en anglés, la qual cosa va resultar molt enriquidora per a l’alumnat i el professorat. A més, vam realitzar també una activitat relacionada amb l’hort escolar on vam poder plantar hortalitzes d’hivern i explicarem l’activitat de compostatge per abonar l’hort. Per la vesprada van realitzar una tasca de construcció de Caixes Niu per a espècies alades autòctones.

Taking advantage of the activities carried out within the school’s environmental framework, we organized a visit to the Oceanogràfic in Valencia for the 6th-grade students and the Rybnik students, where they were able to observe a great diversity of living beings, including ofegabous, triops, and other species such as belugas, crocodiles, fartet, samaruc, etc.
Aprofitant les activitats realitzades dins del marc ambiental del centre, es va plantejar la visita a l’Oceanogràfic de la ciutat de València per part de l’alumnat de 6é i l’alumnat de Rybnik, on van poder observar una gran diversitat d’èssers vius on trobaren ofegabous, triops i altres espècies com la beluga, cocodrils, fartet i samaruc, etc.

The last day was a perfect summary of everything we had experienced: we presented our projects, finished the podcast, and understood that this exchange had gone far beyond what we expected.
The final celebration, with the talent show, said it all. Our friends from Poland left after enjoying a week full of experiences and new friendships.
L’últim dia va ser un bon resum de tot el que hem viscut: vam presentar els nostres projectes, vam tancar el podcast i vam entendre que aquest intercanvi ha anat molt més enllà del que esperàvem.
La festa final, amb el concurs de talents, ho va dir tot. Els companys i companyes de Polònia se’n van anar gaudint d’una setmana plena d’experiències i noves amistats.
