¡Hola! Me llamo David y soy estudiante de Desarrollo de Aplicaciones Web en el IES Salvador Gadea. Actualmente estoy haciendo prácticas en una empresa en Varsovia (Polonia) gracias a una beca Erasmus.
Estoy en una empresa turca que ayuda a estudiantes Erasmus a encontrar universidades y alojamiento y me encargo de hacer el mantenimiento de su página web. Trabajar en esta empresa es muy cómodo y el ambiente es muy bueno. Tengo compañeros muy agradables y nos llevamos muy bien.
Varsovia es una ciudad muy grande, me encanta. Combina la arquitectura moderna con la antigua. Tiene un río y algunos lagos donde también se puede nadar en verano.
También he viajado a Cracovia, que es una ciudad que hay cerca de Varsovia. Ambas tienen su casco antiguo y son muy bonitas.
Os recomiendo que pidáis una beca Erasmus porque es una experiencia que nunca olvidareis. Conoceréis gente nueva de todo el mundo y aprenderéis sobre otras culturas. Por supuesto, también mejorareis mucho en inglés.
Sinceramente, esta experiencia Erasmus es una de las mejores cosas que me han pasado en la vida.

Hi! My name is David and I am a student of Development of Web Applications at IES Salvador Gadea in Spain. Currently I am doing an internship in a company in Warsaw (Poland) thanks to an Erasmus scholarship.
I am in a Turkish company which helps Erasmus students find universities and acommodation and I am responsible for doing the maintenance of their website. Working in this company is really comfortable and the environment is so good. I have very nice coworkers and we get along really well.
Warsaw is a really big city, I love it. It combines modern with older architecture. It has a river and some lakes where you can swim in the summer as well.
I also travelled to Krakow, which is a city next to Warsaw. Both of them have their old town and they are so beautiful.
I highly recommend that you apply for an Erasmus scholarship because it is an experience you’ll never forget. You’ll met new people from all around the world, and you’ll learn about other cultures. Of course, you will learn a lot of English as well.
Honestly, the Erasmus experience is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Hola, somos Lidia y Laura, estudiantes del IES Salvador Gadea. Estamos realizando nuestras prácticas en Malta gracias al programa Erasmus+. Estamos trabajando en Pearls Spa San Antonio, un spa situado en Bugibba. Hacemos todo tipo de tratamientos, desde masajes corporales hasta tratamientos faciales. Trabajar aquí en Malta ha sido una experiencia muy enriquecedora; hemos aprendido mucho. Gracias al spa hemos mejorado en todos los sentidos, personal y profesionalmente. Nos sentimos mucho más seguras de nuestro trabajo y de nuestra técnica y hemos aprendido mucho de nuestros compañeros. En el spa hay trabajadores de todo el mundo y cada uno de ellos nos ha enseñado algo diferente. También hemos mejorado nuestro inglés. Al principio nos costaba mucho comunicarnos y entender a nuestros compañeros, pero con el tiempo y paciencia hemos mejorado bastante.
El primer día en el spa estábamos bastante asustadas, no sabíamos si encajaríamos con los trabajadores, pero pronto descubrimos que eran como una gran familia. De esta experiencia nos llevamos a mucha gente completamente diferente a nosotras en todos los sentidos. Todos ellos siempre han tenido un momento para ayudarnos, cuidarnos y conocernos. Siempre les recordaremos con mucho cariño.
Malta es completamente diferente a España, excepto en el clima. Este país está lleno de culturas diferentes, lleno de color y de vida. Al principio nos sorprendió mucho. Tienen tradiciones y rutinas diferentes, como comer a las 11:30. Sinceramente, nos costó adaptarnos durante las primeras semanas, pero hemos llegado a amar este país y lo que nos ha dado. No ha sido fácil, somos jóvenes y estamos muy lejos de nuestros seres queridos. Ha habido días de mucho estrés y mucho trabajo, pero aun así, hemos disfrutado cada minuto de esta experiencia con una sonrisa y no nos ha defraudado. Si tienes dudas sobre irte a otro país con una beca Erasmus, solo te podemos decir, adelante, serás mejor persona cuando vuelvas a casa, y las experiencias que vivas aquí serán inolvidables. ¡Gracias!

Hello, our names are Lidia and Laura, and we are students of IES Salvador Gadea, and we are doing our internship in Malta thanks to Erasmus+. We are working at Pearls Spa San Antonio, a spa located in Bugibba. We do every kind of treatments, from body massages to facial treatments. Working here in Malta has been such an enriching experience, we have learnt so much. Thanks to the spa we have improved in every sense, personal and professional. We feel much more confident in our work and our technique, we have learnt so much from our colleagues. In the spa there are workers from every part of the world, and each one of them has taught us something different. We have improved our English too. In the beginning it was very hard for us to communicate and understand our peers, but with time and care we are a lot more fluent now.
On our first day in the spa we were very scared about everything, we didn’t know if we would fit with the workers there, but soon we found out that all the workers there just cared so deeply about each other, it was like a family. From this experience we get a lot of people, completely different to us in every way, that always had a moment to help us, to take care of us, and get to know us. We will always remember them with love and care.
Malta is completely different from Spain, except on the weather. This country is full of different cultures, full of colour and life. It was very surprising to us in the beginning. They have different traditions and routines, like having lunch at 11:30, that was honestly difficult to adapt for us in the firsts weeks, but we have grown to love this country and what it has given to us. It hasn’t been easy, we are young and very far away from our loved ones. There has been days of too much stress and too much work, but still, we have enjoyed every minute of this experience with a smile and high hopes and it didn’t disappoint us. If you have any doubts of doing this, we can just say, go for it, you will be a better person when you go back home, and the experiences that you get here will be unforgettable. Thank you!
Durante el curso 2020-2021, Alicia, exalumna del IES Salvador Gadea, fue seleccionada para realizar sus prácticas del ciclo formativo de grado superior de Estética Integral y Bienestar. Durante tres meses estuvo formándose en un spa de la ciudad de Qawra, en Malta, y al finalizar la empresa le ofreció un contrato de trabajo. Hoy, tres años más tarde, recuerda su experiencia desde Malta, donde sigue viviendo y trabajando en el mismo spa donde realizó las prácticas.
¿Cómo recuerdas tu experiencia Erasmus en Malta y las prácticas en el spa?
La experiencia en general la recuerdo con mucho cariño; fue muy enriquecedora en todos los aspectos. Estoy muy agradecida al instituto y al profesorado por la gran oportunidad que me dieron y por confiar totalmente en mí.
¿Qué te llevó a decidir quedarte y trabajar en Malta después de tus prácticas allí?
Me gustaba mi trabajo; mis compañeros se convirtieron en mi nueva familia y Malta me demostró que era bienvenida a quedarme. ¿ Por qué decir que no a nueva increíble oportunidad?
¿Cómo ha evolucionado tu carrera profesional desde que empezaste a trabajar en el spa?
Me he convertido en una persona más responsable, más madura, más profesional, más cuidadosa y más adulta.
¿Qué aspectos de la cultura y el estilo de vida maltés te gustan más?
Me gusta mucho pasear por sus lugares de interés como son la antigua y la actual capital del país (Mdina y Valleta). En cuanto al estilo de vida, siempre sorprenden con sus típicas fiestas en pueblos.
¿Has tenido alguna dificultad al pasar de ser estudiante de Erasmus a profesional en un país extranjero?
Mi única dificultad fue no dominar el inglés. Por lo demás, no tuve ningún problema; siempre me he sentido apoyada y ayudada.
¿A qué diferencias culturales o prácticas laborales has tenido que adaptarte?
He tenido que adaptarme a la diferencia horaria en comidas. Ellos tienen horario inglés, por lo que comen a las 11:30 o 12:00 del mediodía y cenan a las 19:30 de la tarde.
¿Qué metas profesionales tienes a corto y a medio plazo? ¿Tienes pensado seguir trabajando en Malta?
Por el momento me siento bien donde estoy, pero me gustaría explorar otras islas y con este trabajo es realmente fácil cambiar, siempre hay disponibilidad de trabajo, sobre todo cuando tienes buen nivel de inglés y experiencia.
¿Qué consejo les darías a las personas que están pensando en irse a otro país con una beca Erasmus para realizar las prácticas?
Mi consejo es ¡HÁZLO! Es una experiencia única y un gran paso. Siempre hay miedo porque no sabemos qué nos podemos encontrar al otro lado, lejos de nuestra casa y familia, pero yo firmaría todos y cada uno los papeles para volver a hacer unas prácticas Erasmus. Y si decides hacerlo, disfrútalo al máximo.

Hi! My name is Carla and I’m a student of Personal and Corporate Image Consulting at IES Salvador Gadea. Right now I’m doing on-the-job training in an event planning company in Malta thanks to an Erasmus scholarship.
The company I am currently working at is My Event Planner and it’s focused on several services including the planning of different kinds of events, office decorations, CSR, and also merchandising. Within this company, my responsibilities include aiding in the planning of the events, coordinating the set-up and the event itself, and finally the dismantling.
We have planned important events such as Showers Festival, IGaming Next
Conference, weddings, and Corporate summer parties taking various forms like pool
parties, beach parties, festivals, and office events.
My current residence is in Msida, a port city in Malta. It is well connected by public
transport. Ten minutes a walk we have the Sliema Port, and close to it, I have most
of the leisure places in Malta. For example, Paceville, which is a night leisure area,
where a lot of nightclubs may be found.
Furthermore, you can find beautiful and unusual beaches like St Peter’s Pool,
Golden Bay, or Ghadira Bay.
I think that It’s very important to experience Erasmus + because you get the
experience of living alone (in my case it was for the first time) and it will help you to
grow personally. Also, you’re going to improve your English a lot, and… Who knows?
Maybe you’ll find your new life thanks to Erasmus +.

Ciao! Mi chiamo Ángela e sono studentessa di Consulenza d’immagine all’istituto Salvador Gadea. Sto svolgendo un tirocinio in una agenzia di organizzazione di eventi a Roma grazie a una borsa di studio Erasmus.
Sono in una società di wedding planning; qui ci occupiamo di aiutare le coppie a trovare location, fiorista, fotografo e tutto ciò di cui hanno bisogno per il loro grande giorno! Inoltre, il giorno dell’evento ci occupiamo di coordinare tutto e di assicurarci che tutto vada alla perfezione, nonché di decorare la sede prima dell’arrivo degli ospiti.
Roma è la città più bella del mondo, ovunque si vada si trova un monumento storico e ci si immerge nella cultura. Qui, con una semplice passeggiata, potrete scoprire il Pantheon, la Fontana di Trevi, il Colosseo, il Vaticano o Trastevere, un’opera d’arte nuova a ogni passo!
Vi incoraggio a fare domanda per una borsa di studio Erasmus per aprire la vostra mente, conoscere nuove culture e ampliare i vostri orizzonti!

Hi! My name is Natalia and I’m a student of Personal and Corporate Image Consulting at IES Salvador Gadea. Right now I’m doing on-the-job training in an event planning company in Malta thanks to an Erasmus scholarship.
The company where I am organises all kinds of events and my main task is to prepare all the supplies that are needed for the events. I am usually in a garage where all the decorations are kept. When there is an event, we have a list of all the supplies that we need and we prepare them. We paint, clean and organise them and then go to the place where the event is held to set them up. So far, I have been to events such as weddings, private events and even a gastronomic event. I have had the opportunity of going on a boat, seeing an opera concert, and visiting a maritime museum, among others.
The place where I am living is Mosta. Mosta is small and very quiet, and my house is only 20 minutes away from the company. I live very close to the church, which is very famous here. I always see tourists taking pictures because it’s very beautiful.
I really recommend going abroad for an Erasmus. Getting to know a different culture, meeting people, learning a language, and becoming totally independent is something that I recommend to everyone. It is an experience that you will never forget.

Salam Alekum! Bonjour, je suis Yaiza. Et moi je m’appelle Olga. Nous étudions Esthétique intégrale et bien-être au lycée IES Salvador Gadea. Nous sommes actuellement à Marrakech pour faire un stage professionnel dans un spa avec une bourse Erasmus.
We are doing our internship in a spa called Mythic Oriental Spa. We give massages and do the famous Moroccan hammam. The Moroccan hammam is the traditional Arabic steam bath. They apply a black soup called ‘beldi’, then you relax for 5 minutes and they exfoliate the skin with a glove called ‘kiis’. After the scrub they rinse the skin and remove the dead cells. When the hammam is finished, it’s time for the massage. There are three types of massage: relaxing, invigorating or ayurvedic, and we perform them with different oils, butter or hot wax. After the massage, we serve Moroccan tea with Moroccan cookies at the roof-top of the spa.
This city is amazing, the people are so kind and thankful. Every place has something special to see. The Medina is awesome but so busy. But for us the best of all is the Moroccan food, like the cous-cous or the tajine and the sweets; they have amazing desserts and they use a lot of dried food in them. Everything is so different from what we are used to in Spain.
If you are thinking of going on Erasmus, don’t give it a second thought. Just do it! It’s an opportunity you will never have again and now it’s the moment to do it. If you miss it, you will regret it.

Hallo! Ich heiße Carlos und studiere Automatisierung und Industrierobotik an der spanischen Berufsschule IES Salvador Gadea.
Currently, I am doing my internship at Michelin factory in Bad Kreuznach, a small town in Germany. I work in the Automation office, which is responsible for the maintenance and updating of production machines controlled by PLC. I perform most of my tasks in the office, where we are responsible for designing the schematics for any changes in the machinery, developing the necessary software for the update, and implementing it in the factory. In the office there is a small table for interns with all kinds of materials to learn about the software and hardware used by Michelin. In addition, we have a break room for coffee and a restaurant within the factory to eat during our 45-minute mid-morning break. In the restaurant, you can find four different options to eat every day at a super affordable price.
I am staying in a small village called Sponheim. It is a very small town located about 15 kilometres from the factory, and the bus stop is just two minutes away from the house. There aren’t any cars in the village, which is located on top of a hill, so breathing there is an incredible experience. The views are unbeatable, and you can find all kinds of animals around here: chickens, donkeys, horses, cows, geese, raccoons, foxes, and even deer. The people of Sponheim are extremely friendly and always willing to chat when you cross paths with them on the street.
The other village where I spend most of my time in Germany is Bad Kreuznach. It is larger than Sponheim but still a small town. The city center consists of several streets around the river that divides the city. Several bridges cross the river in different places, making it quite easy to get around. The city center is full of cafes where you can go at weekends and have fun. There is also a cinema and an auditorium where classical and alternative music concerts are held. From Bad Kreuznach, you can take trains to almost anywhere, connecting to Frankfurt in less than an hour.
The Erasmus program is with no doubt a great opportunity to travel, learn about another culture, meet different people, and practise a language in an immersive way. And the experience of working in a foreign company and learning how to work abroad can teach you many things that can help you find a job in Spain later. An experience like this is undoubtedly a perfect line for your CV. So don’t hesitate to apply for an Erasmus scholarship; opportunity doesn’t knock twice!

Llego a Malta de noche, hace frío y la humedad me cala los huesos cada vez que las puertas automáticas se abren y el viento me da en la cara, es invierno, así que el frío y la humedad se unen para hacerlo todo más interesante. Sin embargo, todo cambia en cuanto llevo dos días en el país.
La isla es pequeña y puedes ir a todas partes en autobús, por lo que eso es lo que hago al segundo día de llegar. Todo tiene un aire antiguo, trazos occidentales se intercalan con los orientales en toda su arquitectura, las fachadas de los edificios conservan sus estructuras originales y puedes sentir sus historias cuando pasas junto a ellas.
Conozco a mi jefe el lunes de la semana siguiente y en seguida me introduce en la empresa y en su metodología. Desde el principio se interesa en saber sobre mí, sobre lo que busco aprender en las prácticas y en ayudarme en mi carrera profesional. Conforme conozco al resto del equipo, todos buscan aportar a mi aprendizaje en todas sus áreas para que vea cómo funciona el proceso de llevar una empresa de eventos, cómo tratan a los clientes y las horas que realmente invierten para hacer que todo el sistema funcione. Conozco a mi compañera de prácticas, otra chica francesa que lleva ya un tiempo aquí y en cuanto podemos, nos escapamos a conocer Malta, ya sea montando a caballo viendo la puesta de sol o visitando otras islas.
Las preparaciones para eventos nunca cesan, ni las reuniones con clientes, ni los pedidos para nuevos eventos hasta el punto de tener que renunciar a alguno de ellos por no dar a basto con todo el trabajo. En cuanto llega el buen tiempo, los eventos al exterior empiezan y todo son luces tenues en noches de verano, cristales colgantes de los árboles y lámparas llenas de velas que bordean sendas en jardines y castillos. Todo el ambiente transmite armonía y expectación de lo que está por venir.
Es muy gratificante ver que somos nosotros los responsables de crear ese ambiente, y de ver que lo disfrutan tanto hasta el punto de luego recomendar para futuros eventos a sus conocidos y familiares, esta es la causa de que el trabajo nunca pare.
La experiencia ha sido muy enriquecedora, no solo a nivel profesional sino también personal. El estar en contacto con otra cultura las 24h del día te ayuda a abrir la mente, a entender las cosas desde un punto de vista diferente, y sobre todo, te deja con hambre de más.
