Mind map: The Three big families of Athletics
Our 1TSEASE students of the 2024-2025 course, guided by their English teacher Virtu Fernández, have carried out a very creative mind mapping activity. This time they have not used any electronic device, but they have decided to do it the old fashioned way: with crayons and paper, and the results have been amazing, as you can see in these pictures! EASTER
What is Easter?
Easter is a very important festival in the Christian religion, and many Christians go to church at this time. Easter also celebrates the arrival of spring, and we see lots of things that make us think of new life, for example eggs, chicks, flowers and rabbits.
When do people celebrate Easter?
The dates of Easter change from year to year, but it’s usually sometime between the end of March and the end of April. In some countries, people have holidays from school and work, and they often spend time with family and friends.
Easter eggs
Eggs are a big part of Easter celebrations! Many people paint chicken eggs and decorate them with bright colours, and a lot of children receive chocolate eggs as presents. There are many different Easter egg traditions around the world.
In the UK, as well as many other countries, children have fun taking part in Easter egg hunts. They look for chocolate eggs in parks and gardens. The eggs are hidden by the Easter bunny!
In some places, people have egg-rolling competitions. People boil eggs to make them hard, then they paint them. You have to roll your egg down a hill and not break it!
In some parts of Mexico, people fill empty eggs with confetti. When you break the egg over someone’s head, the colourful shower of confetti is supposed to bring them good luck.
Other Easter traditions
In Sweden and Finland, children dress up as ‘Easter witches’. They put on costumes and go to their neighbours’ houses and give them Easter greetings. The neighbours give them sweets or chocolate in return.
In the USA, the UK and Australia, many schoolchildren make special hats called ‘Easter bonnets’ at Easter time. They decorate a hat with flowers, eggs and other colourful things. They wear their hats and walk around, and there is often a prize for the best hat.
In Bermuda, two days before Easter Sunday, on Good Friday, children and adults fly kites. Some people buy their kites, and others make the kites themselves.

People celebrate Easter in lots of different ways around the world. Some of the traditions are religious, others celebrate spring and many are about having fun and eating chocolate eggs! Happy Easter!
Setmana de les llengües
Durant aquesta setmana el nostre centre es convertirà en un mar de llengües, ací teniu una mostra de totes les activitats programades.
Elevator Pitch: Parla’m de tu.
El desenvolupament de la competència comunicativa, cada vegada més valorada per les empreses, posa en marxa un procés creatiu i és, clarament, un element diferenciador que permet destacar en la recerca d’un lloc de treball.
Al concurs realitzat en el mòdul de Formació i Orientació Laboral del nostre centre, ha resultat guanyador el de l’alumne Gero Rodríguez Ochoa.

Musical PENNY LANE
El dimecres 7 de juny a les 19:30 us esperem al Centre Social per concloure el projecte interdisciplinar de 4t d’ESO.
L’entrada és solidaria i podeu recollir-la a la taquilla fent un donatiu per a l’associació Cerebrum que ha segut la destinatària de les causes solidaries que s’han impulsat aquest curs en l’IES Chabàs.
Tallers de Nadal
El dijous 22 va ser una jornada festiva al Chabàs, aprofitant l’espèrit nadalenc l’equip educatiu va preparar diversos tallers lúdics i educatius. L’alumnat, i també algún que altre membre del professorat, va lluir-se en disciplines que habitualment no entren en la temàtica de les seues matèries.

Mercat Solidari
Aquest curs hem pogut reprendre el Mercat Solidari, activitat que organitza el departament d’Economia i que es va dur a terme el dijous 15 de desembre en horari de matí i vesprada.
Tots els diners recaptats van destinats a Cerebrum, associació de persones afectades per dany cerebral adquirit. L’alumnat de 4t ESO i 1r de batxillerat de la matèria d’Economia és l’encarregat de portar a terme les tasques necessàries per a celebrar l’esmentat esdeveniment.
Gràcies a la participació de tota la comunitat educativa, la recaptació aquest any ha sigut de 1.008’9 €.

Taller de Muixeranga
Aquesta setmana l’alumnat de 2n d’ESO ha participat en el taller de muixeranga. Ha estat una gran experiència! A més de conéixer els orígens de la muixeranga, la seua història i les diferents colles actuals, han treballat la coordinació, l’autoconfiança i les tècniques muixerangueres. Però, sobretot, han aprés a fer germanor i treball en equip! Fins i tot van aconseguir muntar una muixeranga de 3 altures.
Han experimentat que la muixeranga pot ser molt divertida i que la cultura valenciana és molt enriquidora. Moltes gràcies a la Muixeranga de Segària per la vostra ajuda, dedicació i per donar a conéixer la cultura a la nostra joventut!
