Modified games are in between the content of games and the contents of the sports that we know. In this intermediate are modified games, perhaps called modified pre-sports games. That is, they are sports-oriented games, but we totally eliminate the technique, we work on the comprehensive model of the sport, we stay with the understanding of the sport and if we are able to understand the sport then we can apply the technique to the sport that in the case of primary school the technique is very basic. Let’s remove all the technical difficulty of the sport and start practising tactics. From this understanding in a pre-sports way to then drift into sport. These types of modified games have a lot of acceptance in the primary stage because there is practically no technique. They are a type of game in which everyone can play, it is very inclusive and we work on different values such as equality, cooperation, respect, among others.
Modified games are divided into 4 categories:
- The sports games of white and target.
- Bat and field games.
- Split-court games.
- Invasion sports.
Each of the categories has tactical similarities that differentiate it from the rest. It is important that the student knows these similarities, understands the nature of the game and, thanks to this, begins learning.
