On January 9, the final of the European Girls4tech contest took place at the Espai Jove de Puçol, where one of the participating groups from Ies Puçol was awarded first prize.
This project aims to encourage and motivate young girls to study STEAM careers, in which, currently, most of the students are boys.
Girls4tech has been an initiative developed jointly by the European foundation Finnova together with the municipalities of Benaguassil, Albal and Puçol, where 8 groups belonging to different centers in these municipalities competed.
Finally, the group formed by Carolina, Celia, Paula, Aitana and Claudia won first prize with their TAS Project (Sustainable Active Tourism) which will be presented at the European Parliament (Brussels) in May of this year.
1er premio Girls4tech
El pasado 9 de enero tuvo lugar la final del concurso europeo Girls4tech en el Espai Jove de Puçol, donde uno de los grupos participantes del Ies Puçol fue galardonado con el primer premio.
Dicho proyecto tiene como objetivo impulsar y motivar a chicas jóvenes a estudiar las carreras STEAM, en las que, actualmente, la mayor parte de los estudiantes son chicos.
Girls4tech ha sido una iniciativa desarrollada conjuntamente por la fundación europea Finnova junto con los ayuntamientos de Benaguassil, Albal y Puçol, donde concursaron 8 grupos pertenecientes a diferentes centros de estos municipios.
Finalmente, el grupo formado por Carolina, Celia, Paula, Aitana y Claudia obtuvieron el primer premio con su Proyecto TAS (Turismo Activo Sostenible) que será presentado en el Parlamento Europeo (Bruselas) En mayo de este mismo año.
