El día 9 de marzo tuvo lugar el primer día de encuentro con el grupo del centro De Amersfoortse Berg, procedente de los Países Bajos. Tras su llegada y recepción en el IES Serpis, organizamos una primera actividad de bienvenida para que pudieran conocer nuestro centro y empezar a familiarizarse con nuestro entorno escolar. En primer lugar, dividimos a los estudiantes en pequeños grupos mixtos formados por alumnado local y alumnado visitante. De esta manera, realizamos una visita guiada por las instalaciones del instituto. Durante el recorrido les mostramos las diferentes aulas, los espacios comunes y las zonas más importantes del centro, al mismo tiempo que les explicábamos cómo es nuestra rutina diaria en el instituto, cómo se organizan las clases y algunas de las actividades que realizamos habitualmente. Posteriormente, nos reunimos todos en la sala multiusos, donde el alumnado había preparado varias presentaciones sobre distintos aspectos de nuestro país. A través de estas exposiciones, los estudiantes neerlandeses pudieron conocer mejor la geografía de nuestro país, algunos elementos de nuestra gastronomía, ciertos estereotipos culturales y también algunos momentos relevantes de nuestra historia. Para hacer la actividad más dinámica y participativa, finalizamos esta parte con un juego tipo quiz, en el que los estudiantes pudieron poner a prueba lo que habían aprendido durante las presentaciones. Para terminar la jornada, realizamos todos juntos una ruta en bicicleta por el barrio del Cabañal. Esta actividad nos permitió mostrar a nuestros visitantes una parte muy representativa de la ciudad de Valencia, caracterizada por su historia, su arquitectura tradicional y su cercanía al mar. Además, fue una oportunidad excelente para que el alumnado de ambos centros conviviera, hablara en inglés y comenzara a conocerse mejor en un ambiente más relajado.

On March 9th, the first meeting day with the group from De Amersfoortse Berg school, from the Netherlands, took place. After their arrival and reception at IES Serpis, we organised a welcome activity so that they could get to know our school and start becoming familiar with our school environment.
First, we divided the students into small mixed groups made up of local students and visiting students. In this way, we carried out a guided tour of the school facilities. During the tour, we showed them the different classrooms, common areas and the most important spaces in the school, while also explaining what our daily routine at the school is like, how classes are organised and some of the activities we usually carry out.
Afterwards, we all gathered in the multi-purpose room, where the students had prepared several presentations about different aspects of our country. Through these presentations, the Dutch students were able to learn more about the geography of our country, some elements of our gastronomy, certain cultural stereotypes, and some important moments in our history. To make the activity more dynamic and participatory, we finished this part with a quiz game, in which the students were able to test what they had learned during the presentations.
To end the day, we all went on a bike tour around the Cabanyal neighbourhood. This activity allowed us to show our visitors a very representative part of the city of Valencia, known for its history, its traditional architecture and its proximity to the sea. It was also an excellent opportunity for students from both schools to interact, speak in English and start getting to know each other better in a more relaxed atmosphere.
