Project Erasmus+ KA2 about transferable skills in VET – 2017-1-ES01-KA202-037895

IES Abastos participated in an Erasmus+ KA2 project with Vocational Training centers in Belgium, Germany, and the Czech Republic, with the aim of improving the employability of vocational training students at basic levels by developing transferable skills. The participating students, at risk of educational exclusion and with low motivation, worked on activities designed to foster key competencies such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

During the project, the students created a catalog of transferable skills, analyzed surveys conducted with instructors and trainees, and designed methodologies for developing both in-person and online activities. As a final result, they produced a job search guide for basic vocational training students, which can be extended to other low-skilled professionals.

International cooperation facilitated the sharing of educational experiences across diverse contexts, promoting cross-cultural and multilingual learning. The students improved their communicative competence in English and became aware of the importance of transferable skills in the labor market. Furthermore, the project reduced school absenteeism and increased student motivation, boosting their self-esteem and improving their employability.

The participating teachers gained experience in managing European projects and developed a replicable methodology for training other educators. This initiative has fostered an institutional dynamic that encourages participation in new Erasmus+ projects, consolidating the European dimension of IES Abastos and its commitment to educational innovation in vocational training.
