Project Erasmus+ KA2 “Foreign Language Acquisition through Blended Learning” in VET – 2019-1-DE03-KA229-059772_2
IES Abastos has participated in an Erasmus+ KA2 project with schools in Germany, Norway, and Poland, focused on improving foreign language learning through blended learning methodologies. The project was specifically aimed at Vocational Training students with a technological background, integrating the use of digital platforms such as Moodle and tools like Babbel to foster independent and collaborative learning.
Participants worked on designing hybrid learning environments, developing educational software, teaching materials, and learning units for the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They created vocabulary trainers, educational videos, short stories, and interactive exercises, including in-person activities such as role-playing games and real-life communicative scenarios, complemented by digital resources like Scratch for generating text and audio.
The project promoted the learning of German and Spanish as the primary languages, also incorporating introductory courses in Polish and Norwegian. This initiative has allowed students to improve their linguistic, digital, and communicative skills, as well as fostering teamwork and cultural exchange.
Thanks to this experience, IES Abastos has integrated new methodologies into its teaching practice, consolidating the use of ICT tools in language learning and reinforcing its European dimension. The project has contributed to making language learning more effective, sustainable, and connected to the needs of today’s students.
