From January 19th to 23rd, a group of eight students and two teachers from IES Puçol travelled to Rome to participate in a new meeting of the Erasmus project “More Polynomials and Less PET Against Climate Change.” This initiative links mathematics education with environmental awareness through collaborative work between European schools. 

Throughout the week, the Spanish and Italian students took part in several mathematical activities involving data analysis, modelling, and reflection on plastic consumption and its environmental consequences. These activities helped them explore the role of mathematics in understanding and addressing climate change. 

The cultural programme was equally rich. The group visited some of Rome’s most iconic landmarks, including the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Piazza di Spagna, and Piazza Navona, among many other historical sites. Each outing provided a deeper insight into the city’s cultural heritage and added value to the overall educational experience. 

This mobility proved to be an academically and personally enriching experience, strengthening the connection between both institutions and highlighting the importance of international cooperation in students’ education.

Del 19 al 23 de gener, un grup format per huit alumnes i dos professors de l’IES Puçol va viatjar a Roma per a participar en una nova trobada del projecte Erasmus “Más polinomis i menys PET contra el canvi climàtic”, que unix l’educació matemàtica amb la conscienciació ambiental.  

Durant l’estada, les participants van desenrotllar diverses activitats matemàtiques centrades en l’anàlisi de dades, modelització i reflexió sobre l’ús del plàstic i les seues alternatives. Estes dinàmiques van permetre aprofundir en l’impacte del consum de materials PET i en el paper de les matemàtiques per a comprendre i actuar enfront del canvi climàtic.  

El programa cultural va ser igualment intens i enriquidor. El grup va visitar alguns dels llocs més emblemàtics de Roma, com el Coliseu, el Fòrum Romà, la Plaça d’Espanya i la Plaça Navona, a més d’altres racons històrics de la ciutat eterna. Cada visita va ser una oportunitat per a descobrir la riquesa cultural i patrimonial de Roma, reforçant el component formatiu del projecte.  

L’intercanvi va suposar una vivència acadèmica i humana de gran valor, que va enfortir encara més els llaços creats en la mobilitat de Puçol entre els dos centres educatius i va reafirmar la importància dels projectes internacionals en el desenvolupament personal i acadèmic de l’alumnat. 

From November 17th to 21st, two teachers from IIS Papareschi in Rome visited IES Puçol to take part in a job-shadowing experience, strengthening the educational collaboration between the two institutions. 

Throughout the week, the visiting teachers had the opportunity to explore the wide range of educational projects and initiatives implemented at IES Puçol. They also attended various lessons as observers, gaining insight into classroom practices in subjects such as Economics, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, as well as sessions held with PMAR and PDC. This provided them with a comprehensive understanding of the school’s teaching methodology and day-to-day functioning. 

The visit took place in an atmosphere of collaboration, professional curiosity, and shared learning. IES Puçol wishes to express its special thanks to all the teachers involved, whose warm welcome, dedication, and constant support made this experience both productive and meaningful for the visitors. 

This job-shadowing activity further strengthens the ties between both schools and highlights the value of professional exchange in improving educational practice. 

Del 17 al 21 de noviembre, dos profesoras del IIS Papareschi de Roma visitaron el IES Puçol para llevar a cabo una experiencia de aprendizaje por observación (job shadowing) en el marco de la colaboración educativa entre ambos centros. 

Durante su estancia, tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer en profundidad los proyectos educativos y pedagógicos que se desarrollan en el IES Puçol. Las profesoras asistieron también como observadoras a diversas clases de distintas materias, incluyendo Economía, Biología, Matemáticas, Física y Química y también sesiones con grupos especiales, lo que les permitió conocer de primera mano la metodología docente y la dinámica diaria del centro. 

La visita transcurrió en un ambiente de colaboración, interés mutuo y enriquecimiento profesional. Desde el IES Puçol se quiere expresar un agradecimiento especial a todo el profesorado implicado, cuya acogida, dedicación y disponibilidad hicieron posible que esta experiencia fuera altamente provechosa y significativa para las profesoras visitantes. 

Esta estancia refuerza los lazos entre ambos centros y subraya el valor del intercambio profesional en la mejora de la práctica educativa. 

The second part of the LIFE, FEEL, DISCOVER project with the Friedich-List-Gymnasium in Asperg (Germany) took place between November 13-20, where the group of 15 students traveled with their teachers with the aim of promoting cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.  
 
Through collaborative activities they explored their culture, the relationship between sport and art and discovered the beauty of natural spaces.

– Visit to the Barock Gardens.

It has been a very motivating experience for our students. 

LIFE, FEEL, DISCOVER (LFD): 2ª movilidad en Asperg  

La segunda parte del proyecto LIFE, FEEL, DISCOVER con el Friedich-List-Gymnasium de Asperg (Alemania) tuvo lugar entre el 13 y el 20 de noviembre, donde el grupo de 15 alumnos viajó con sus profesoras con el objetivo de promover el intercambio cultural y educativo entre ambos países.   

 A través de actividades colaborativas, exploraron su cultura, la relación entre el deporte y el arte y descubrieron la belleza de los espacios naturales. 

 – Recepción en el Ayuntamiento de Asperg. 

– Visita al Museo Mercedes en Stuttgart. 

– Visita al Museo Experimenta.   

– Visita a los Jardines Barrocos.

From November 10th to 14th, our school welcomed a group of students and two teachers from IIS Papareschi in Rome, who participated in a dynamic and enriching week of collaborative work as part of the project “POLYNOMIAL +, PET-, AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE´.The initiative goal is the promotion of environmental awareness through mathematics and strengthening cooperation among European schools. One of the most remarkable aspects of the visit was the excellent harmony among the students creating an atmosphere of teamwork, friendship, and eagerness to learn. 

Throughout their stay, participants engaged in mathematical activities focused on modelling, recycling, and analyzing the use and impact of plastic materials—an ideal way to explore environmental issues through scientific tools. 

The program also featured several cultural outings. The group visited l’Albufera, where they discovered the natural richness of the ecosystem and reflected on the importance of environmental preservation. They also toured the City of Arts and Sciences, and attended at the Hemisfèric a screening dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, followed by an exploration of the related exhibition. 

The visit concluded with a day spent in Valencia’s historic centre, where the group had the unique opportunity to witness a live session of the Tribunal de las Aguas, one of Europe’s oldest judicial institutions and recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. 

This exchange proved to be a deeply valuable cultural, academic, and human experience, strengthening the ties between the two educational communities and reaffirming the importance of international collaboration in student learning. 

Del 10 al 14 de noviembre, nuestra centro acogió a un grupo de ocho estudiantes y dos profesores del IIS Papareschi de Roma, que participaron en una intensa y enriquecedora semana de trabajo conjunto dentro del proyecto “Más polinomios y menos PET en la lucha contra el cambio climático”. El objetivo del proyecto eTwinning es promover la conciencia ambiental a través de las matemáticas, y fomentar la colaboración entre centros educativos europeos. Uno de los aspectos más destacados de la visita fue la excelente armonía entre el alumnado participante creando un ambiente de convivencia, amistad, cooperación y entusiasmo por aprender. 

Durante su estancia, se desarrollaron diversas actividades matemáticas vinculadas a la modelización, el reciclaje y el uso de materiales plásticos, ideales para profundizar en el impacto ambiental y las posibles soluciones que ofrece la ciencia. 

El programa también incluyó varias salidas culturales. El grupo visitó l’Albufera, donde pudo apreciar la riqueza natural del entorno y reflexionar sobre la importancia de preservar los ecosistemas. Asimismo, recorrieron la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias y asistieron en el Hemisfèric a la proyección dedicada a Leonardo da Vinci, complementada con un recorrido por la exposición dedicada al genio renacentista. 

La visita culminó con una jornada en el centro histórico de València, donde el grupo tuvo la oportunidad de presenciar en directo una sesión del Tribunal de las Aguas, una de las instituciones jurídicas más antiguas de Europa y Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. 

La experiencia supuso un intercambio cultural, académico y humano de gran valor, que fortaleció los lazos entre ambas comunidades educativas y reafirmó el papel de la cooperación internacional en la formación del alumnado. 

IES Puçol has organised various activities to celebrate #ErasmusDays 2025. This year, from 13 to 18 October, the following activities were carried out:  

•  Informative talks for ESO students with the aim of expanding the ERASMUS+ student ambassador community.  

•  Informative talks for first-year Baccalaureate students about long-term stays in Finland.  

•  Creation of a collaborative mural with students wishing to join the ambassador club, showcasing the six values of the European Union based on: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and human rights.   

•  Locating on a map of Europe the countries with which we have worked on Erasmus+ projects. 

CELEBRACIÓN DE  ERASMUS DAYS 2025  

El IES Puçol ha organizado diversas actividades para celebrar los #ErasmusDays 2025. Este año, del 13 al 18 de octubre, se han llevado a cabo las siguientes actividades:  

•   Charlas informativas para alumnos de ESO con el objetivo de ampliar la comunidad de embajadores estudiantiles ERASMUS+. 

•  Charlas informativas para alumnos de 1.º de Bachillerato sobre estancias de larga duración en Finlandia.  

•  Creación de un mural colaborativo con los alumnos que desean formar parte del club de embajadores, en el que se muestran los seis valores de la Unión Europea basados en: la dignidad humana, la libertad, la democracia, la igualdad, el Estado de derecho y los derechos humanos.   

•  Localización en un mapa de Europa de los países con los que hemos trabajado en proyectos Erasmus+.  

1st and 3rd October we welcomed visitors from the Linz Institute in Austria. Twelve students came to learn about our centre and visit Valencia, its surroundings, the Albufera and the City of Arts and Sciences.   

They visited some of our classes and participated in the creation of a mural on healthy eating.  

El 1 y 3 de octubre hemos recibido la visita del instituto del Linz en Austria. Han venido doce alumnas y alumnos para conocer nuestro centro y visitar Valencia, sus alrededores, la Albufera y la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias.  

En nuestro centro han entrado a algunas de nuestras clases y participado en la elaboración del mural sobre alimentación saludable.  

On 26 September 2025 our centre celebrated the European Day of Languages, organising various activities aimed at promoting the linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe.  

 The following activities were carried out:  

•  Activity 1: Performance in the Agora of the European Anthem and the Anthem for the European Day of Languages by the Music students and teachers, becoming European civic ambassadors, one of the objectives of our ERASMUS accreditation.  

•  Activity 2: Art competition ‘Languages Open Hearts and Minds!’ 4th year secondary school students taking part in the eTwinning project POLYNOMIAL +, PET – AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE designed posters related to this theme.  

DÍA EUROPEO DE LAS LENGUAS 2025  

El 26 de septiembre de 2025, nuestro centro celebró el Día Europeo de las Lenguas organizando diversas actividades destinadas a promover la diversidad lingüística y cultural de Europa.  

Se llevaron a cabo las siguientes actividades:  

•  Actividad 1: Interpretación en el Ágora del Himno Europeo y del Himno del Día Europeo de las Lenguas por parte de los alumnos y profesores de Música, convirtiéndose en embajadores cívicos europeos, uno de los objetivos de nuestra acreditación ERASMUS.  

•  Actividad 2: Concurso de arte «Las lenguas abren corazones y mentes». Los alumnos de 4.º de ESO que participan en el proyecto eTwinning POLYNOMIAL +, PET – AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE diseñaron carteles relacionados con este lema.
