He was born in Atlanta (USA), in 1929. He grew up in a religious family. He was a pastor, and in 1960 he was involved in different non-violent protests.
In 1963 he gave his famous speech, where he said “I have a dream”.
In 1964 he received the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1968 he was murdered by a sniper.
Nowadays, people remember him on the third Monday in January.
