Continuing within the Erasmus+ international mobility project KA122-SCH-000075733 (Short-term projects for student mobility and school education staff), during the week of March 20-26, the professor of Economics Cristina Javaloyes and the teacher of P.T. Cristina Ruiz, with the aim of implementing learning on environmental issues and climate change in our educational community, went to Lisbon to receive the training course “Small Actions with Big Impacts”

There they were trained with teachers from other countries ( Greece, Latvia and Romania) sharing learning experiences and methodological proposals, creating links between our educational communities.

Throughout the week, as stated by the United Nations in the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, they learned that environmental aspects are one of the main priorities for action on our planet, being aware of the need to raise teachers’ environmental awareness in order to act as facilitators of change.

They have thus acquired training in the field of environmental education for sustainable development, acquiring concepts of environmental sustainability and valuing the importance of the efficient use of natural resources, as well as the impact of each action on the environment.

On the other hand, they have delved into the 6 Rs of the environment (Rethink, Reject, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Compost) as a tool to simplify environmental education.

Finally they have carried out practical activities with different educational materials and resources in the field of environmental education, creating environmental education activities within the educational context inside and outside the classroom.

In addition, they had the gratifying experience of being able to visit the Alto do Lumiar school, where with the help of the students, they started the school garden of the center.

After the completion of the mobility, the compañeras, were very excited, transmitting to both the faculty and the students what they learned. We hope that these experiences will sow small actions of change in our center, through the continuous training of teachers and the internationalization of our educational community.
