Last Wednesday, the Sanchis Guarner school received the 3rd Bronze Up!Steam Award in the “Gamers” category. The awards ceremony took place at the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
The winning project, “Comunidad Valenciana Sprint Challenge!”, designed by all the 5th grade students and coordinated by Raül Lara, is a video game inspired by Valencian traditions and culture and consists of three missions.
In the first, you’ll play a game of pelota in a trinquet. In the second, you’ll travel in a hot air balloon throughout the Valencian Community, discovering the most emblematic sites and monuments. And in the third challenge, you’ll become a chef and prepare a pan with the best ingredients.
This is an interdisciplinary project developed using the Scratch platform through blog programming and based on gamification to enhance students’ digital competence and computational thinking through technology. Congratulations to the featured students!
Come in, play, and travel throughout the Valencian Community!
