Our EOI lived an unforgettable Erasmus+ experience in Finland

From April 27th to May 3rd, a group of nine students and two teachers from the ‘EOI La Vall d’Albaida’ participated in a training stay in Finland as part of the Erasmus+ programme, hosted by Mercuria Business College in Vantaa.

Throughout the week, the students participated in activities with Finnish students, such as workshops on theater applied to the business world, comparing work situations, and creating multilingual glossaries. They also had the opportunity to learn about the Finnish education system and the innovative methodologies used.

The cultural visits included iconic sites such as Seurasaari Island, the Oodi Library, Suomenlinna Fortress, and Nuuksio National Park, where they enjoyed a picnic and traditional games in the heart of nature. The celebration of the Vappu festival provided an opportunity to experience one of the country’s most beloved traditions up close.

This Erasmus+ experience has been a unique opportunity to foster intercultural coexistence, improve students’ linguistic and personal skills, and enrich teachers’ teaching practices.

At the ‘EOI La Vall d’Albaida-Empar Granell’ we would like to express our gratitude for the Mercuria center’s welcome and reaffirm our commitment to open, European, and transformative education.

Erasmus+ stay in Dublin

Good morning everyone!

I want to tell you about my Erasmus experience in Dublin. In August 2023 I spent time there thanks to the Erasmus+ programme. In Dublin, I was able to learn new methodological and didactic techniques related to language teaching, and not only that, I made contact with other professionals from all over Europe!

This way, when I came back, I was able to put everything I had learned into practice in the classroom. My goal is to motivate students and show them that learning a foreign language is not only easy, but also fun. It was a fantastic experience!

Erasmus+ stay in Vantaa (Finland)

From November 12th to 19th, our colleague Marta completed an Erasmus+ stay in Vantaa, Finland, at the Mercuria school. There, she visited a vocational and adult education centre, where she was able to observe the way of working in this country, ranked first in education worldwide. She also received specific training on the education system and the methodologies used. This is what she tells us 🧏🏻:

«Hello! Thanks to our Erasmus+ project, I had the opportunity to travel to Finland and see how other European centres work. The experience was very enriching because I was able to learn not only from my Finnish colleagues, but also from the students. I felt very well supported and guided thanks to their warm welcome. Munich mobility

Loles and Maria visited a multicultural centre that respects other cultures

 
Our first Erasmus+ project is moving forward very well!

This time, our colleagues Loles and Maria participated in a very interesting mobility program in Munich, Germany, from March 17 to 23.

They visited a dual baccalaureate and vocational training school where they were able to observe how language classes work (German, English, and Spanish for foreigners) and also experienced the German education system firsthand.

They concluded their visit to Germany very successfully, creating bonds with the school’s foreign language teachers, taking advantage of new learning experiences and methodologies, and discovering new teaching spaces.

We hope to continue collaborating with this school in the near future to facilitate mobility programs for our students and thus continue our goal of becoming a European school and a benchmark in the region.

Erasmus+ stay in Cork (Ireland)

Hello everyone!

Our colleague Marta was in Cork, Ireland 🇮🇪, from July 15th to 19th, visiting the University of Cork where she observed how English classes are taught at different levels, from A2 to C2. The observation also included Academic English and Business English classes. She was also able to compare the differences and similarities between Irish and Valencian, as minority languages, at the academic and institutional levels.

She also thoroughly enjoyed the international atmosphere at a fair where students from different countries took center stage and took the opportunity to ask about their customs and traditions.

As you can see, Erasmus+ 🇪🇺 projects are a great opportunity for teachers to take new ideas and bring them into our classrooms.

We continue developing our great little project with enthusiasm!

TCA in Palermo, Sicily (Italy)

Our colleague Maria travelled to Palermo from September 22nd to 26th to participate in a training and cooperation activity on diversity and inclusion (TCA: ‘Inclusion for Newcomers in Erasmus+’), attended by a total of 67 teachers from 18 European countries.

Over the course of four days of work, Maria was able to network with other European participants with similar concerns and needs in the area of ​​inclusion, and she gained many ideas for our school, which aims to be an open and inclusive center capable of responding to all the needs that are identified.

Some proposals for cooperation with European partners have emerged, and Maria will follow up on them to continue improving and learning in the future.

Erasmus+ stay in Amsterdam (The Netherlands)

Our colleague Maria participated in a training course on environmental education that took place in Amsterdam from July 22 to 27. Maria’s participation in this type of training reflects the school’s commitment to sustainability and the need to stay up to date on crucial issues for the comprehensive education of students. This training has not only allowed her to acquire knowledge about the environmental challenges that we face as a society, but also to explore strategies to address them from the educational world.

The school will be able to benefit from innovative initiatives and sustainable policies that will emerge as a result of the training received. This knowledge can be applied to the school’s daily activities, from responsible resource management to the implementation of educational projects that actively involve students in protecting the environment. Therefore, Maria’s participation in this course ensures that our school continues to move towards a more conscious and responsible educational model, with the aim of inspiring change not only in the classrooms, but also in the behavior of the community surrounding the centre.

Erasmus+ stay in Florence (Italy)

From August 19 to 23, our colleague Joan Fuset participated in an intensive course on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to language teaching in Florence, Italy. The course allowed Joan to explore how new applications that use AI can transform teaching, working with various innovative digital resources.

During his stay, Joan shared experiences with teachers from other countries, created a personalized lesson plan and learned new methodologies that he can apply in the classroom. This training, part of the Erasmus+ project, highlights the importance of the programme in fostering European cooperation and improving the quality of education in our schools.

Florence, with its cultural heritage, was the ideal setting to foster creativity and the exchange of knowledge.

Erasmus+ stay in Baden (Austria)

Last October, our colleague Loles Terol visited an educational centre near Vienna, specifically in the beautiful imperial city of Baden. For a whole week, she was able to observe the language classes of this secondary school “Gymnasium” where English, Spanish, French and Italian are taught as foreign languages. Loles actively participated in the Spanish classes and quickly integrated into the cloister of the language departments.

The 2nd year students of Baccalaureate surprised our colleague with a guided tour of the city where Loles discovered many special places such as Beethoven’s house where the composer completed the Ninth Symphony.

The experience has resulted in many new contacts that will surely accompany us on our path towards the internationalization of the school.

Dos alumnas alemanas de prácticas en la escuela

Del 28 de abril al 16 de mayo nuestra escuela ha acogido a Kira y Rossaleta, dos alumnas alemanas procedentes de Múnich.

Han asistido a varias clases de alemán e inglés donde han participado activamente en todas las actividades de comunicación y juegos organizados, y también han conocido de la mano de nuestro alumnado lugares de interés turístico en Ontinyent y otras poblaciones próximas, como Bocairent.

Kira y Rossaleta no han dudado a destacar lo que más les ha impresionado de nuestra escuela:
✅ Clases dinámicas, interactivas y divertidas,
✅ Un ambiente acogedor,
✅ Y una conexión muy especial entre el profesorado y el alumnado, que hace que todo el mundo se sienta parte activa y valorada dentro del grupo.

A lo largo de las tres semanas de su estancia, también han colaborado con el Centro Ocupacional ‘José Antonio Bodoque’, lo cual ha sido una buena oportunidad porque pudieron conocer cómo funciona un centro público que ofrece servicios integrales e individualizados de atención diurna a personas con discapacidad intelectual.

Abrir las puertas de nuestro centro a Europa no solo nos enriquece, sino que confirma que estamos en el buen camino: una escuela comprometida con la innovación, la inclusión y la calidad educativa.

Visita de profesoras eslovenas

Profesoras eslovenas visitan nuestra escuela

Del 5 al 9 de mayo hemos tenido el privilegio de acoger cuatro profesionales del mundo de la educación procedentes de Eslovenia, que han venido para conocer de cerca nuestra manera de trabajar.

Además de disfrutar con las clases de varias profesoras de nuestro centro, han podido observar de primera mano como estamos aplicando los conocimientos que hemos adquirido fruto de la formación en centro de este año:
-Inteligencia Artificial aplicada a la enseñanza, compartida por nuestro compañero del departamento de valenciano, Joan Fuset, y
-Inclusión en el aula, abordada con sensibilidad y experiencia por Maria Martínez, del departamento de inglés.

Esta visita se enmarca en el contexto de proyectos Erasmus para establecer contactos con socios europeos de cara a futuras movilidades de nuestro alumnado.

Primera estancia Erasmus+ con alumnado en Vantaa (Finlandia)

Nuestra EOI vive una experiencia Erasmus+ inolvidable en Finlandia

Del 27 de abril al 3 de mayo, un grupo de nueve alumnos y dos profesoras de la ‘EOI La Vall d’Albaida’ ha participado en una estancia formativa en Finlandia dentro del programa Erasmus+, acogidos por el centro Mercuria Business College, en la ciudad de Vantaa.

A lo largo de la semana, el alumnado ha compartido actividades con estudiantes finlandeses, como por ejemplo talleres de teatro aplicado al mundo empresarial, comparación de realidades laborales y elaboración de glosarios multilingües. También han tenido ocasión de conocer el sistema educativo finlandés y las metodologías innovadoras que se aplican.

Las visitas culturales han incluido espacios emblemáticos como la isla de Seurasaari, la biblioteca Oodi, la fortaleza de Suomenlinna y el parque nacional de Nuuksio, donde disfrutaron de un picnic y juegos tradicionales en plena naturaleza. La celebración de la festividad del Vappu permitió conocer de cerca una de las tradiciones más queridas del país.

Esta experiencia Erasmus+ ha sido una oportunidad única para fomentar la convivencia intercultural, mejorar las competencias lingüísticas y personales del alumnado y enriquecer la práctica docente del profesorado.
