The CIDA, in collaboration with educational associations and European entities, has been an active part of the ARVET project. This project, carried out between 2021 and 2023 with funding from the Erasmus KA-202 program, focused on promoting the use of digital tools, including digital beacons and Augmented Reality (AR), to facilitate practical teaching in Vocational and Educational Training (VET) aimed at students with disabilities.

Led by FUNDEUN and involving institutions such as the General Directorate of VET and Special Regime Teachings of the Valencian Community and training centers in Spain, Romania, and Finland, the project sought to provide an innovative methodology and tools that would enable students with disabilities to perform manipulative tasks autonomously.

The CIPFP Canastell, along with other participating centers, has conducted tests with students in Special Education and Basic VT programs in Vehicle Maintenance and Kitchen and Restoration. These programs used selected AR tools for specific activities, such as learning to use a digital multimeter, operating a forklift, or using an industrial coffee maker.

Mª Ángeles Ferrández, vice-director of the center, explained that two groups were established to compare learning methods: one that followed traditional methods to learn the use of the digital multimeter and another that used AR tools to learn how to use the industrial coffee maker. At the end, both students and teachers participated in surveys to assess the effectiveness of both methods.
