GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT VISITS PORTUGAL THROUGH ERASMUS+ SCHOOL EDUCATION

As part of our Erasmus+ School Education Project, co-funded by the European Union, our colleagues Amaya Albaladejo and Vanesa Medina took part in a Job Shadowing mobility experience in Portugal.

This opportunity allowed them to observe innovative educational practices, inclusion strategies, and sustainability projects that contribute to enriching the educational work carried out in our school.

🌱 A School Committed to Inclusion and Sustainability

The Agrupamento de Escolas Terra de Larus, located in Amora (Portugal), stands out for its strong commitment to inclusive education, sustainability, and values-based learning.

Through initiatives such as Eco-Escolas 🌍 and the Ubuntu Project 🤝, the school promotes social commitment, active citizenship, and respect for the environment.

♿ Education for Everyone

The school provides specialised resources and classrooms to support students with diverse needs, including:

  • 🧩 Classrooms for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ♿ Classrooms for students with multiple disabilities
  • 🦻 Support resources for deaf students

These resources help ensure an inclusive learning environment adapted to the needs of every student.

📚 Learning Through Participation

The activities observed reflected participatory and collaborative teaching methodologies that encourage:

✅ Student autonomy
✅ Creativity
✅ Teamwork
✅ Personal and academic development

🌟 A truly enriching experience that helps us continue building a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovative educational community

UNITED IN GREECE: AN ERASMUS+ EXPERIENCE THAT OPENS MINDS

UNITED IN GREECE: AN ERASMUS+ EXPERIENCE THAT OPENS MINDS

As part of our Erasmus+ School Education Project, co-funded by the European Union, our colleagues Paqui Maquilón (Administration and Facilities), Gabriela Espineira (Guidance Department), and Olga Tortosa (Biology Department) enjoyed a valuable Job Shadowing experience on the island of Rhodes, Greece.

🌍 Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone

This mobility experience gave them the opportunity to step completely outside their comfort zone. One of the first challenges was communicating in a foreign language on a daily basis 🗣️, a challenge they successfully overcame through patience, determination, and a willingness to learn.

📚 Discovering the Greek Educational System

Professionally, the experience was highly rewarding. They had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the Greek educational system and explore innovative sustainability projects 🌱♻️, from which we can all gain inspiration.

They also attended classes and shared learning spaces with students, observing different teaching approaches, classroom dynamics, and educational practices.

🏫 A Different School Organisation

One of the most surprising aspects was the organisation of the school itself. In Greece, schools do not have the equivalent of the caretaker or concierge role commonly found in Spanish schools. It was both interesting and inspiring to observe how the school community collaborates to ensure the smooth running of daily activities 🤝.

✨ A Life-Changing Experience

Without a doubt, this Erasmus+ mobility was an enriching personal and professional experience. It provided new perspectives, ideas, and learning opportunities that will continue to benefit our educational community.

💙 Travelling, learning, and sharing international experiences not only broadens knowledge but also opens minds and transforms the way we understand education and the world around us.

Ευχαριστώ! (Thank you!) 🇬🇷
