Fundeun and its European partners continue to advance in the practical application of an innovative technology applied to synchronous virtual training of students and graduates of Vocational Training. Recently, the last meeting of Arvet took place in Regensburg (Germany), which emerged in 2021, before the closure of the project, together with the other partners, ISOB Institute, from Germany, Universitatea Vasile din Bacau, from Romania, Ammatiopisto Spesia, from Finland and Cida on behalf of the General Directorate of Vocational Training in Alicante and Valencia.
In the last meeting held, the quality partner, Alexander Krauss, presented the report of results and conclusions gathered after testing the augmented reality based tools in different training centers in Spain, Finland and Romania. In addition, the partners visited a Caritas center for the work of people with disabilities, who are responsible for the gearing of air conditioning parts of vehicles and where each position is adapted to their abilities. The meeting also served to set the guidelines for the development of the plan’s final report.
The European initiative Arvet will come to an end on August 31, after 36 months, leaving a study on online training and disability focused on Vocational Training in the European Union and also, having tested the teaching tools through the combined use of digital beacons and augmented reality, the autonomous performance of individual manipulative tasks of students with disabilities. Thus, they are already thinking about the second part of the project.
According to the project, the autonomous performance of individual manipulative tasks in vocational training (VET) practices by students with disabilities, currently cannot be performed independently without the support of a teacher or tutor, greatly limiting their development and learning on equal terms.
In September 2021, this idea of Fundeun became a reality because it was selected by the European Union (EU) to be funded, for three years, with 337,317 euros. Within the Strategic Partnerships in the Vocational Training sector (KA202), Fundeun’s pilot project becomes practical for the development of innovation that they have called Digital Guidance using beacons and augmented reality for the inclusion of students with disabilities in the training practices of Vocational Training in Alicante. It is now approaching its final phase.
