From 14 to 18 April, eight students from our Institute travelled to Timisoara, Romania, as part of an exchange project funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme. The students were accompanied by mathematics teachers Teo Toca and María José Jover.
During their stay, they had the opportunity to engage in a cultural exchange, share experiences, and practise Spanish with students from the Jean Louis Calderon Theoretical High School through various activities. The main objective was to familiarise themselves with Romanian culture and traditions, while also promoting Valencian culture and raising awareness of our institute. We would like to express our gratitude to teachers Luana Tanase and Julián Fernández (visiting lecturer) from the Calderon for hosting us and helping with the organisation.
In addition to the academic activities, the students had the chance to enjoy sightseeing, such as the impressive Hunedoara Castle, built in the 14th century and considered one of the most magnificent in Romania. Furthermore, they explored Zoe’s Gardens, designed by the Italian Giovanni Salvatelli in honour of his niece, which impressed them with their beauty. They also had the occasion to take a ride through Timisoara on the tourist tram, organised by the Timisoara institute.
This experience has been enriching for our students on both a personal and professional level, and we hope to repeat it next year. We are also excited to receive the visit from the Timisoara students and continue exchanging experiences. Here’s to more adventures like this!
