At our school, the library has always been a very special place. Perhaps because we missed having one for so many years in our old building, or perhaps because of all the care, enthusiasm, and excitement we poured into designing and organizing it. Whatever the reason, it has become one of the most beloved spaces in our entire school community.
Even before construction was finished, we had a very clear vision: we did not want a library confined within four walls. We dreamed of an open, vibrant, and accessible space that could become the true heart of the school—a place from which culture and knowledge could reach every corner. And so our library was born, a library that, since last year, proudly bears the name of one of our former principals.
Thanks, among other things, to the Biblioinnova’t program, books have moved beyond the shelves and into hallways, reading nooks, and gathering spaces. The library has expanded throughout the school, inviting everyone to read, share, and discover new stories at any moment of the day.
Even knowing that encouraging a love of reading is one of the greatest educational challenges of our time, we remain convinced that it is worth every effort. Because here, beneath the Wish Tree, among cushions, grass benches, and picture books, there is always someone ready to be carried away by a story.
Our collection includes books for every age and interest: stories about joy and sadness, fear and courage, life and death; books that teach science, history, and art; books that help us better understand the world and become more empathetic and compassionate people. Books that answer questions we never dared to ask, and others that live out adventures we have not yet had the courage to experience ourselves.
We will continue to care for and protect this space with the same enthusiasm we felt on the very first day, convinced that reading is an essential tool for educating future generations and that losing our library would be like stopping the heart of our school.
