THE INNOVATION IN THE TOURISM SECTOR “TAKES OFF” IN THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

From CIDA we want to thank Distrito Turismo, as well as the company Lookish, the opportunity given to CIDA and IES Tirant Lo Blanc of Elche to show the Applied Research Project for Vocational Training of the DGFP and ERE (PIAFP), dependent on the Conselleria de Educación within the “Travel Tech Day”; the tourism of the future.

This event was held in Distrito Digital and its objective was to present the trends on technology applied to the tourism sector, to know the challenges and innovative solutions of some companies, to continue facing the digital transformation of the sector, and to achieve a smarter, digital, sustainable and accessible tourism.

Among the participating companies, Barrabés.biz opened the event, as part of the Distrito Turismo team, telling what the initiative promoted by Distrito Digital consisted of. Juan Castro from ADESTIC, Cluster of Innovative Companies for Tourism of the Valencian Community, emphasized the need to attract technological profiles to this sector.

Several companies such as Optimizadata, Eventcase, the Tourist Intelligence Shop, Starstartup, Vanyou, Staxe and Lookish, presented their technological solutions and the latter presented its Lookish Travel Guide VR360 DTI platform. After finishing his presentation, Antonio Simón, Marketing Director, gave the floor to Gloria Ferrandis, teacher of IES Tirant Lo Blanc, Center of Excellence in Tourism of the Valencian Community, with whom she participates in the PIAFP that is being coordinated from this educational center.

The Project “Metadestino CV. Your network of virtual destinations”, which is currently in the development phase, aims to create a network of accessible and sustainable virtual destinations, so that visitors can learn about and experience the attractions of the destinations in question. IES Tirant Lo Blanc coordinates this interesting inter-center project with six vocational schools, located in the three provinces of our Community: CIPFP Mislata, CIPFP Costa Azahar del Grao de Castellón, IES Macià Abela de Crevillente, IES Luis García Berlanga de San Juan de Alicante, IES 8 de marzo and IES José Cavanilles, the latter two located in Alicante. These centers participate with five different Professional Families that complement each other, in addition to Tourism, Physical Activities and Sports, Image and Sound, Computer and Communications, and Electricity and Electronics, which provides a unique experience to students, integrating them into the productive fabric.
This project, like the other 20 PIAFP’s that are being carried out in the Valencian Community, with a wide participation of the 26 professional families, is a very interesting opportunity, not only for the students, but also for the companies and institutions related to the different productive sectors, which will be able to detect the talent that exists in the Professional Training and Vocational Training.

From CIDA, we are supporting the VET institutes contributing to expand the Network of digital centers of the Valencian Community, promoting, disseminating and collaborating with them in innovation and digitization.
