DAY 1
El primer día fué una mezcla de emociones, salimos de Castellón muy nerviosos, pero al llegar al aeropuerto en Polonia esos nervios se fueron, allí nos esperaban unas familias que desde el primer día nos trataron como si formásemos parte de ellas. Esa misma tarde, a mí por ejemplo, ya me estaban enseñando parte de su ciudad. Me enseñaron sitios que no creo que olvide nunca. Entre ellos, un lago precioso en el que dimos de comer a los patos. Las calles estaban llenas de tulipanes y estoy segura que, igual que yo, todos los demás estaban haciendo fotos a cada cosa que veían. En mi caso, ya para acabar el día, comimos un helado. Llegamos a casa, cenamos y nos fuimos a dormir deseando que llegara el siguiente día.
The first day was a mixture of emotions. We left Castellón very nervous, but when we arrived at the airport in Poland these nerves left our minds, there were the families that made us feel that we were another member of them. That afternoon, they showed me many places that I think I’m going to remember forever, for example. We go to a lake and we throw food to the ducks. The streets were full of tulips and I’m sure that I’m not the only one that was taken photos of everything. In my case to end the first day we ate ice cream, we arrived home and we went to sleep thinking about the next day.
DAY 2
El segundo dia visitamos el colegio, nos hicieron una presentacion donde hablaron el polaco y en español. Luego nos deleitaron con una clase de baile latino. Mas tarde cojimos el tren hasta llegar a un centro comercial enorme para poder disfrutar de una sesión de “scape room”, donde competimos entre nosotros en tres grupos diferentes. Ese mismo día algunos de nosotros decidimos ir al McDonald’s a cenar y concluir así con el día.
The second day we visited the school, they gave us a presentation where they spoke Polish and Spanish. Then they treated us to a Latin dance class. Later we took the train to a huge shopping center to enjoy a “scape room” session, where we competed against each other in three different groups. That same day some of us decided to go to McDonald’s for dinner and end the day.
DAY 3
El miércoles fuimos a hacer una visita a Varsovia nos fue guiando un guía turístico explicándonos los monumentos de la ciudad. Fue muy chulo e interesante.
On Wednesday we went to visit Warsaw. We were guided by a tourist guide explaining the monuments of the city, it was very cool and interesting.
DAY 4
Este día llegamos por la mañana al colegio y cocinamos. Un grupo cocinamos pancakes y el otro hizo una ensalada de frutas. Más tarde, nos comimos todos juntos los pancakes y la ensalada de frutas mientras oíamos música típica polaca y les enseñamos música típica española. Después fuimos a Varsovia al comité olímpico polaco, donde nos enseñaron cómo algunos deportes han evolucionado a lo largo del tiempo y algunas medallas que había ganado Polonia. También nos dieron la sorpresa de que vino una tiradora de arco que ganó el bronce y también nos dejó “probar” su arco. Para acabar el día, algunos fuimos de compras a un centro comercial, cenamos allí y luego nos volvimos a casa para dormir y contarles lo que habíamos hecho en el día a nuestra familia de allí.
That day we arrived at school in the morning and we cooked. One group cooked pancakes and the other made a fruit salad. Later, we all ate pancakes and fruit salad together while listening to typical Polish music and showing them typical Spanish music. Then we went to Warsaw to the Polish Olympic Committee, where they showed us how some sports have evolved over time and some medals that Poland had won. They also gave us the surprise that a bow shooter came, who won bronze and also let us “try” her bow. To end the day, some of us went shopping at a mall, had dinner there and then returned home to sleep and tell our family what we had done that day.
DAY 5
El viernes por la mañana nos reunimos en el colegio, donde nos esperaba un autobús para ir al pueblo de Lublin, a dos horas y media aproximadamente.
Cuando llegamos, fuimos al museo de la cebolla, donde hicimos nuestro propio pequeño pastel de cebolla y nos explicaron cómo hacían antes ciertas cosas que ahora hacemos con máquinas más actuales.
A continuación, fuimos al campo de concentración de Lublin, donde nos hicieron una guía por el campo y nos explicaron diferentes cosas del genocidio y también la relación que tuvo con Polonia. Esta visita fue muy dura de escuchar pero toda aprendimos mucho.
Después fuimos a comer al pueblo a un restaurante de comida típica polaca. Por último, tuvimos tiempo en familia por la tarde cuando llegamos del viaje en autobús de vuelta.
On Friday morning we met at school, where a bus was waiting for us to go to the town of Lublin, approximately two and a half hours away.
When we arrived, we went to the onion museum, where we made our own little onion pie and they explained to us how they used to do certain things that we now do with more modern machines.
Next, we went to the Lublin concentration camp, where they gave us a guide through the camp and explained different things to us about the genocide and also the relationship it had with Poland. This visit was very hard to listen to but we all learned a lot.
Afterwards we went to eat in town at a typical Polish food restaurant. Lastly, we had family time in the afternoon when we got back from the bus ride back.
DAY 6
El Sábado fuimos algunos de nostros a una ciudad llamada Cracovia, que estaba a unas tres horas de Varsovia. Era una ciudad bastante antigua en la que habia un castillo muy grande y alto, subimos y las vistas eran impresionantes. Visitamos la plaza central, un mercado subterráneo y lo que mas nos gustó fue un museo subterráneo de hace muchos años atrás. Fuimos y volvimos en tren y fue un viaje bastante largo ya que estaba a tres horas en tren de Varsovia.
On Saturday some of us went to a city called Krakow, which was about three hours from Warsaw. It was a fairly old city in which there was a very large and tall castle, we went up and the views were impressive. We visited the central square, an underground market and what we liked the most was an underground museum from many years ago. We went and came back by train and it was quite a long trip since it was three hours by train from Warsaw.
LAST DAY
El domingo por la mañana fuimos todos a la escuela, para allí despedirnos de nuestras familias y coge una furgoneta que nos llevara al aeropuerto. Después fuimos al aeropuerto, y una vez todo organizado las profesoras nos dejaron tiempo libre para comer y comprar cosas.
Por último cogimos el avión para volver a casa.
On Sunday morning we all went to school, to say goodbye to our families and take a van to take us to the airport. Later we went to the airport, and when everything was organized the teachers left us free time to eat and buy things. Finally, we took the plane to go back home.
