We can agree or not with the latest laws and regulations, but it makes no sense to waste time discussing them since they are mandatory.
With the LOMLOE the grades change, and in our school we have decided to change them for all grades, simplifying processes and avoiding confusion.
What you are going to receive through webfamilia is a qualitative document about the learning of your kids. There will be no sobresaliente, notable or suficiente until the last evaluation.
We could talk about what these grades mean for each one of the little people we have at school and if they are worth the same for those who strive to get them or for those who do not have to make an effort, but now is not the time.
Besides, we are not giving neurosurgery degrees, and finishing kindergarten or elementary education in our country is not any extraordinary feat no matter how many graduation ceremony we want to organize for each tiny step they take as if tomorrow the world was going to end (we will talk about that another day).
The boys and girls that get a sobresaliente are not worth more and are not better than those that get an insuficiente.
Those who strive to work, who care about the people around them, who are able to find solutions and work as a team, to show solidarity and empathy, to be grateful and generous… Those are the people that will make a better world for everyone, and grades will not tell you that about your child. Try to value what is really important because there are people with outstanding grades and miserable lives and people who repeat a level and lead full and happy lives.
This first evaluation is a test for everyone, so there may be errors and aspects that need to be ironed out. Surely there will be changes and adaptations throughout this year and the ones to come, but we will adapt as we always do. We hope that the new report card will help you better understand how your children function at school, although do not take them very seriously unless we tell you so.
