HISTORY
In 2013, CEIP Castell del Pop was born. Until then, Murla did not have its own space and used different spaces to teach classes to the children of the municipality.
It was built to house about 7 students, with two classrooms, a cafeteria and with common spaces in the exterior.
Over the years, we have grown to have almost 60 students and 4 classrooms in 2022-2023; we have had to adapt the spaces to be able to carry out the activities and we have moved the cafeteria to a nearby municipal space.
The town council has already handed over the adjacent land to the school to build an extension of the school center, and we hope to be able to have it as soon as possible.
SCHEDULE
We have a continuous schedule and classes are from 09:00h – 14:00h from October to May.
The students have the option to stay in the cafeteria until 17:00h.
In the months of September and June, the schedule is from 09:00h – 13:00h, with the cafeteria until 15:00h.
THE TEAM
We have a staff of 11 people.
7 teachers (of which two are permanent) 1 instructor, 1 physical education teacher, 1 music teacher, 1
hearing teacher, 1 language teacher, and 1 cleaner.
We hope to have two more permanent teachers in the next school year.
THE SCHOOL’S EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
We have turned into a school of reference for familes who opt for active methodologies and project based work, which is why students who live in other close municipalities are encouraged to come to our school.
The program of plurilingual and intercultural education (PEPLI) is the linguistic project that we use in our school to teach in three languages (valenciano-castellano and English).
Valenciano is used as the common language. Memos and information for the families are sent in both Valenciano and Castellano, and access to the message in English is provided for those who need it.
Our educational project is based on PBL (Project Based Learning), presently we are using LOMLOE learning situations. The students, from the time they enter at 2 years old until they leave at 12 years old,
always work in the same way. Our classes are interlevel, where students are mixed by age and in a rural, incomplete school like ours, this makes us use a very special type of methodology.
The backbone of our School ́s Educational Project is called EIP (educational innovation project), which makes our School ́s Educational Project the backbone of all areas of our curriculum, and of course, all classroom programming.
All of the programs worked on in our school are interconnected. This year we were awarded, for the first time, the CDP (Center ́s Digital Project), which has become the driving force behind the EIP, and where we have managed, with the entire educational community, to create an inovative, pedagogical school education project… and above all unique for the school in Murla.
