To join the AT Network, you must concentrate on the following criteria:

Criterion 1. Student-centred Methodologies

The teaching staff at the school employs student-centred methodologies to facilitate projects, learning situations, or activities. Such methodologies enhance the development of students’ competencies and foster meaningful learning by presenting real challenges to address. The defining characteristics of student-centred methodologies are:

  • They place equal importance on the acquisition of knowledge, skills (such as teamwork), attitudes (such as commitment and responsibility), and competencies (including effective research and information processing, as well as interpersonal and social relationships, among others).
  • They engage and inspire students through a stimulus (project, problem, challenge) and a response (result, resolution, or solution).
  • Students are the central figures in their own educational journey.
  • They link education to real-world applications.
  • They represent multidisciplinary, adaptable methodologies that can be tailored to any field or subject.

Criterion 2. Use of Digital Technologies

The teaching and learning, assessment, and organizational processes employ a range of tools and devices that facilitate the incorporation and integration of ICTs within the classroom. The objective is to convert ICTs into technologies for learning and knowledge. The “Aulas” platform serves as a Virtual Learning Environment, functioning beyond a mere document repository. By leveraging its integrated assessment tools, including rubrics and interactive activities such as questionnaires, forums, and H5P, among others.

Criterion 3. Utilization of Spaces and Furnishings

The school’s environments should be designed to meet students’ needs and support teacher engagement; they must be adaptable and multifunctional. The educational setting must provide students with opportunities to acquire new knowledge and skills, such as reflect, explore, create, connect, innovate, share, and present.

Criterion 4. Teacher Participation

The center’s educators are trained, engaged, and actively employ methodologies, digital technology, and adaptable spaces in their instructional roles.
