June’s Artist: @MessyMsxi

To wrap up the school year, we’ve explored the work of a very special artist: MessyMsxi, an illustrator and visual artist from Singapore who uses her artwork to reflect on the relationship between people and the environment — especially the oceans and marine pollution.

Her drawings, installations, and sculptures combine recycled materials, natural elements, and vibrant colors to make us reflect on the planet’s future and the importance of caring for it. She’s inspired us deeply to connect art, sustainability, and creativity.

🌊 Inspired by her ideas, we’ve continued developing our Ocean Project, creating marine animals using recycled materials: turtles, seahorses, sharks… All of it while reflecting on how we can reuse, reduce, and recycle to protect our seas.

✨ Additionally, the older students carried out a service learning task: creating decorative jellyfish made from reused cupcake liners, which will be displayed during El Realengo’s summer festivities. Through this gesture, we aim to spread an ecological awareness message beyond the school walls.

🎨🌍 With MessyMsxi, we’ve learned that art can be a tool to change the world—to care for it and to imagine it in new ways. And also, that brilliant ideas can come from what we already have at home!

💙 Thank you for a school year full of creativity, learning, and commitment. Have a great summer! 🌞🌊♻️
