With the aim of gaining first-hand knowledge of the Swedish educational system and its inspection model, three inspectors from the Valencian Community took part in an Erasmus+ mobility that took place in the cities of Gothenburg and Eskilstuna..

In Gothenburg, the inspectors were welcomed by the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, where they learned about its structure and working methods, characterized by professional autonomy and teamwork. Over several days, they accompanied local inspectors on visits to schools, observing evaluation processes, meetings with school management teams, and discussions with teachers to analyse educational outcomes and improvement strategies.

The second part of the mobility took place in Eskilstuna, where the Valencian representatives were welcomed by the Municipal Department of Education. There, they took part in meetings with the improvement and quality teams, learning about the “Roda de la Qualitat” model, which promotes continuous evaluation and support for schools. They also visited several primary and secondary schools, where they observed how diversity is addressed, the use of flexible learning spaces, and students’ autonomy.

The stay concluded with a visit to Mälardalen University, where projects on educational innovation and teacher training programmes based on peer observation were presented. In addition, the inspectors learned about the supervision service for private schools and the management of family complaints, which closely resembles the functions of the Educational Inspectorate of the Valencian Community.
