INSPECTORS FROM THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY UNDERTAKE A JOB SHADOWING IN LISBON

November 24 – 28

Three inspectors from the Valencian Community are in Lisbon this week visiting the Inspeção-Geral da Educação e Ciência (IGEC). The visit aims to gain first-hand knowledge of the Portuguese model of educational supervision and evaluation.

During these days, they will participate in the various stages of the external evaluation process of educational centers, attending interviews with the schools’ governing bodies, self-evaluation teams, teachers, students, and families. They will also accompany the evaluation teams on classroom visits, observe teaching practices, attend analysis meetings, and participate in internal coordination sessions.

This Erasmus+ experience strengthens professional exchange and helps to reinforce cooperation between the educational inspectorates of Portugal and the Valencian Community.

ERASMUS+ TRAINING FOR EDUCATION INSPECTOR

October 20–25

Four inspectors from the Valencian Community are participating this week in two Erasmus+ training courses focused on educational leadership, pedagogical innovation, and professional skills development.

Two of them are attending the Innovative Leadership in Education – Soft Skills Teacher Course in Athens (Greece), aimed at strengthening personal and professional competencies in educational leadership, effective communication, and collaborative work. The program includes practical activities, case analyses, and strategies to promote more creative, participatory, and inclusive educational environments.

At the same time, two other inspectors are taking part in the Strategic Leadership and Management for Principals, Vice Principals and School Policymakers course in Dubrovnik (Croatia), which addresses topics such as strategic management of schools, conflict resolution, advanced communication, stress management, and public relations in the educational field. The training combines theoretical sessions with visits to Croatian schools, fostering the exchange of experiences with local school leaders and teachers.

These Erasmus+ initiatives strengthen educational leadership and promote European cooperation.

JOB SHADOWING OF THE EDUCATION INSPECTORATE IN GERMANY AND POLAND

October 20–25

During this week, six inspectors from the Valencian Community are taking part in different Job Shadowing experiences within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, with the aim of gaining first-hand knowledge of other European education systems and promoting the exchange of good practices.

In Bamberg (Germany), three inspectors are undertaking a placement focused on learning about the Bavarian education system, with special attention to the organization of the inspectorate, arts education, and dual vocational training. Throughout the week, they are visiting the E.T.A. Hoffmann-Gymnasium, primary and secondary schools, vocational training centers, and the local education authority, addressing topics such as inclusion, dropout prevention, and educational quality assessment.

At the same time, in Krakow (Poland), another group of inspectors from the Valencian Community is taking part in a training placement that includes visits to schools, universities, and educational leadership departments at the Jagiellonian University (Uniwersytet Jagielloński), as well as activities focused on developing digital competencies, fostering pedagogical innovation, and promoting cooperation among educational institutions.

These international experiences allow the Valencian education inspectorate to broaden its professional perspective, strengthen institutional collaboration with other European education systems, and advance the shared goal of improving the quality and equity of education.

JOB SHADOWING OF THE EDUCATION INSPECTORATE IN VERSAILLES, FRANCE

October 13–17

A group of inspectors from the Valencian Community is participating this week, from October 13 to 17, in a Job Shadowing program in Versailles.

During these days, the inspectors will visit various institutions and educational centers in the Versailles area to learn about the organization of the French education inspectorate, teacher professional development, and different inclusion and school health programs. They will also participate in activities focused on primary education, language teaching, and innovative methodologies.

This experience promotes the exchange of good practices and strengthens international educational cooperation.

JOB SHADOWING OF THE EDUCATION INSPECTORATE IN SWEDEN

September 29 – October 3

Three inspectors from the Territorial Directorate of Valencia are currently in Sweden participating in a Job Shadowing experience, with the aim of gaining first-hand insight into the work of the Education Inspectorate in an international context.

During their stay, they will visit the Education Inspectorate in Gothenburg, where they will have the opportunity to observe and learn directly about the procedures and practices carried out by their Swedish counterparts. Afterwards, they will travel to Eskilstuna to visit various schools, gaining an in-depth understanding of the Swedish education system and exploring innovative teaching methodologies applied in the classrooms.
