An inspector from the Territorial Directorate of Valencia has participated in the course ‘Inclusion, Health & Wellbeing in Education’ held in Galway, Ireland, within the framework of the Erasmus project 2024-1-ESO1-KA121-ADU-000225655. This activity aims to acquire new experiences and best practices to later share with the rest of the Educational Inspection team, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and the improvement of inclusive education practices.

The course, offered by LFEE, aimed to deepen understanding of the policy, practice, and culture of inclusive education, providing tools and strategies to:

  • Foster an inclusive culture in the classroom and throughout the school.
  • Manage the diversity of students’ learning needs.
  • Develop teaching competencies in inclusive education and innovative methodologies.
  • Enhance cooperation with the educational community, including families and students.
  • Promote health, wellbeing, and educational equity.
  • Increase confidence and motivation to implement inclusive practices in the Valencian school context.

The course program combined theoretical sessions, practical workshops, and cultural activities, including:

  • Self-awareness and prejudice management: personal reflection exercises, empathy, and perspective-taking.
  • Inclusion and integration in schools: pedagogical strategies, available resources, and school leadership.
  • Inclusive practices: activities for teachers and students that promote collaboration and active participation.
  • Diversity and equity: attention to minorities, sexual and gender diversity, related traumas, bullying, and conflicts.
  • Cultural experiences: exploring Galway, community activities, and traditional Irish dance classes.
  • Evaluation and reflection: self-assessments, group dynamics, and final questionnaires to measure learning.

With the aim of maximizing the impact of the training, an online meeting will be organized with the rest of the inspection team, where the main learnings will be shared so they can be applied and adapted in the educational context of the Valencian Community.
