From October 20 to 24, 2025, a group of educational inspectors from the Valencian Community participated in aJob Shadowing in Bamberg, focused on learning about the German education system and observing best practices at different educational levels.

The host institution was the E.T.A. Hoffmann-Gymnasium in Bamberg, a ‘Gymnasium’ (secondary school) with a musisch profile, meaning it is oriented towards music, art, and theater, and stands out for offering its students a stronger focus on artistic and musical subjects.

They met with the Bamberg School Board, where they were able to exchange experiences on leadership and educational guidance. Additionally, they visited primary and secondary schools, attended classes, and analyzed teacher development and the promotion of educational inclusion. Strategies for preventing school dropout were also addressed

At the Heidelsteigschule Grund und Mittelschule, they learned about the Kultur Schule model, which promotes artistic and cultural learning, as well as its support program for students with linguistic migration backgrounds. They also explored the external evaluation process of the Bavarian system for Gymnasien, discussed in a specific session on upper secondary education.

Another of the observations carried out was at Vocational Education and Training (VET) centers, where they learned about the organization of workplace internships and the models of collaboration between educational institutions and companies. They also visited the Theresianum, a center focused on providing second-chance education to young people and adults returning to their studies, notable for its inclusive approach and personalized support.
