June 16
On June 16th, we celebrated the end of the 2024–2025 school year with a very special event. We kicked things off with a Fitflamc performance and session, the perfect way to break the ice and get moving with rhythm and fun.
🎶💃 Both students and teachers joined in the movements and games, where exercise, laughter, and group connection were fully guaranteed — thanks to our amazing dance instructor, Azahara Peña, who brought us tons of energy and joy.
🧠 Fitflamc not only promotes physical health but also boosts self-esteem, social bonding, and motivation, making it a great fit for school celebrations.
After the Fitflamco Masterclass led by Azahara Peña, a dance teacher from the Zario academy, the winning students of the literary contest for the second cycle in the Valencian and Spanish categories came to collect their diplomas and prizes.
The winning stories were based on either fictional or real events, often inspired by memories from other homes and lands of origin that the authors had to leave behind. However, as reflected in the stories, these experiences are not forgotten—they remain alive in memory and in the heart, because they simply cannot be erased.
Here you can read the winning stories in PDF format.
Congratulations to all the winners!
Afterwards, the 1st Book Fair of the Adult School began, with great success. Students had the opportunity to exchange one of their own books for another. The selection was rich and varied: fiction, poetry, theatre, children’s books, and reference materials, available in four languages: Valencian, Spanish, French, and English. Students of all levels, workshops, and ages took part in the event.

On June 17th, we experienced an unforgettable day with our Poetry Recital at school. Students from 1st and 2nd cycle, Valencian and Spanish workshops, as well as the Spanish for Foreigners group, recited poems filled with emotion and meaning.
🗣️ The event was moderated by our recently retired colleague, Alfred Vila, who also shared a touching poem to close the recital.
📝 Poems in Valencian and Spanish by the writer Maria Beneyto, chosen by the AVL for 2025, were read aloud, along with verses in Douala, Igbo, Farsi, Ukrainian and English, recited by international students.
🎵 The recital began with the screening of a Spanish protest song against the war in Palestine, as a symbolic act of social awareness and solidarity.
🕊️ Students from GES 2, together with teachers Maria Fuertes and Inma Folgado, recited their own original poems for peace, using deeply emotional words that moved everyone present.
💖 A heartfelt thank you to all the teachers and students involved in making this event possible — full of values, emotion, and a strong sense of community.

🟣 Closing Events of the 2024–2025 School Year
On June 18th, the final closing events of the 2024–2025 academic year took place.
At 5:30 p.m., we had the honour of hosting Khadija Amin, an Afghan journalist and activist for women’s rights, who delivered a powerful conference about the current reality faced by women and girls in Afghanistan under Taliban rule, shared from her personal experience as a professional woman forced to leave her career and flee her country.
Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and mother of three children, Khadija studied journalism at Fanoos University. She played a prominent role in Afghan media, working for several local outlets and eventually becoming a news anchor and reporter for Afghanistan’s National Television, focusing on women’s issues. When the Taliban returned to power, she was forced into exile, arriving in Spain on an evacuation flight organized by the Ministry of Defence.
Now a refugee in Spain, she continues her journalistic work, collaborating with 20 Minutos, Artículo 14, and Medfeminiswiya. She also works for Fundación Telefónica and creates documentaries for Telefónica Broadcast Services. She is the president of HOF – Hope Of Freedom, an association dedicated to the rights of Afghan women, and she regularly gives talks and lectures to raise awareness.
🔹 “They are trying to erase us, but we are unforgettable,” said Amin during her speech, which concluded with a thoughtful and emotional Q&A session where attendees could share their reflections and questions.
🎓 GES 2 Graduation Ceremony – Closing of the 2024–2025 School Year
After Khadija Amin’s conference, on June 18th, one of the most emotional moments of the day took place: the graduation ceremony of GES 2 V and GES 2 N students.
The event was moderated by Inma Folgado, teacher of the socio-humanistic area. Students gave heartfelt and often humorous thank-you speeches to their teachers, sharing memories and appreciation. The teachers received small gifts and keepsakes from the students.
A GES 2 N student delighted everyone by performing two songs live, accompanied by his guitar, creating a touching musical moment.
The tutor of GES 2 V gave a congratulatory speech, recalling meaningful moments shared throughout the course.
Two commemorative videos were shown: GES 2 N’s included heartwarming photos from the school year with teachers, and GES 2 V’s featured students writing thoughtful words and signing their names. The video ended with one final word, written by the tutor: “Enhorabuena ” (Congratulations)
👉 We would like to take this opportunity to wish all students the same congratulations for their academic or professional future. Best of luck to each and every one!
