DAY OF THE BOOK

April 23rd is celebrated around the world as what should be the most important day for any institution linked to education… but it isn’t. Studies show that we read less and less—and with less depth. And even though we at school keep working hard to encourage our children to read, the competition with mobile devices is fierce.
Reading is much more than a skill: it’s like opening a window to the world. It sparks the imagination, enriches vocabulary, improves comprehension, and helps us express what we feel and think. But beyond that, reading connects us with emotions, teaches us empathy, allows us to learn about other cultures and realities, and awakens our curiosity and critical thinking. Every book is an opportunity to grow, to dream, and to discover who we are and everything we can become. Inside each story, each tale, there is something that transforms us and helps us become better people.
We want to take this day to remind our families how important it is to read at home. Reading together, reading aloud, sharing bedtime stories… these are moments that stay in the heart forever. Because when a child sees an adult enjoying a book, they learn that books are treasures that will be with them for life.
So… Happy World Book Day! May we never run out of stories that help us fly.
