Being sustainable, caring for the planet, sorting trash, understanding that we’re not the only living beings on Earth, picking up litter, cleaning… it’s a hassle. It’s much easier to just gather all the trash, throw it in a bag, toss it in the nearest bin, and live as if all the planet’s resources were here only for our enjoyment.
Things that are truly worth it rarely come easy. Do you think taking care of this planet for future generations is worth the effort? At our school, we believe it is. That’s why, for years, we’ve made conscious decisions like using recycled paper, drastically reducing plastic consumption, and creating and maintaining a truly naturalized playground where trees and plants grow free from pesticides and herbicides.
Yes, the three R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle) can be a pain, but living on a barren, polluted, and hostile planet would be a lot more painful.
