semana del 27 al 30 de Abril
Hi everyone,
Along the coming weeks we will be working on messurement of LENGTH, CAPACITY AND WEIGHT.
This week we will start with LENGTH (longitud).
What is LENGTH? The length determines the distance between two points, or in other words, it is the amount of space between two points.
For example, the distance between your house and school; or the distance from one end of the table to the other.
The main unit for measuring length is the METRE.
- To introduce this concept please watch the following videos:
These are the units that we use when measuring different things or distances:
Main unit of length: metre (m)
↵ ↳
Metre Submultiples (Units smaller than 1 metre)
1 m = 10 decimetres = 10 dm
1 m = 100 centimetres = 100 cm
1 m = 1000 millimetres = 1000 mm
Metre Multiples (Units greater than 1 metre)
1 decametre = 1 dam = 10 metres
1 hectometre = 1 hm = 100 metres
1 kilometre = 1 km = 1000 metres
- Sometimes you will need to change from one UNIT to another. Watch the following video to know how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

- Once you have watched the video, copy in your notebook the units of measuraments. As we are going to learn this week about LENGTH, do only the lenght measurements (not weight / not capacity). You can print out the pdf, which is attached below or copy it. Here you have an example how you have to do it.

- To start practicing with this units, specially metres and centimetres, you are going to do some activities: CB p.80 ex. B, p.81 ex. A1, B1, B2, B3
