Hello Year 5,

We start a new topic, unit 5: 2D shapes, we are learning how:

• To make informal deductions about 2D shapes and their properties.
• To use angles and line properties to classify and describe triangles and quadrilaterals.
• To tessellate combinations of 2D shapes
• To use 2D shapes to solve problems.

TRIANGLES:

All triangles have 3 sides and 3 angles. The sum of the angles always add up to 180°. 

Triangles are congruent when they have exactly the same three sides and exactly the same three angles.

QUADRILATERALS

HOMEWORK

In order to review what you have learnt so far in class, you have to do this homework. 

• Find attached one PDF’s: U.5 2D Shapes 

How do you have to set up your work? 

• You can print out these documents and later, stick them in your notebook.
• If you don’t want to print them out, copy the activities in your notebook.
• Please, take care of the presentation and try to keep your notebook neat and tidy as well.
• I suggest doing these activities before the exam in order to help you and practice a bit more.
• We will correct the homework Friday 5th of February.
• If you have any question, please feel free to ask me children.
