ETWINNING 25-26. CITIZEN 6.2 How Do You Manage Your Own Electronic Waste?
As part of the activities for the International E-Waste Day, our students took part in an engaging learning experience titled “How Do You Manage Your Own Electronic Waste?”.
To begin, they watched an informative video about e-waste — what it is, how it affects the environment, and why proper recycling and disposal are essential for a sustainable future. After watching, students worked in small groups to define the concept of e-waste in their own words, sharing examples from their daily lives and discussing how digital habits contribute to electronic waste generation.
Next, they collaborated with their international partners to design survey questions aimed at understanding how young people in different countries manage their electronic devices once they become obsolete. This process encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and intercultural dialogue, as students compared ideas and selected the most relevant questions for the joint survey.
Finally, students completed the shared survey in class, reflecting on their own practices and becoming more aware of the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling electronic materials responsibly.
This meaningful activity helped raise awareness about the global challenge of e-waste while promoting collaboration, environmental responsibility, and digital citizenship among our learners.
