WEEK 4:

TASK:

Let’s get set for Week 4 as we prepare to explore Solutions for Climate Change! This is an exciting part of the project. Students enjoy bringing their ideas, concepts, and even working solutions. A 7-year-old might create a drawing or build a cardboard prototype while a 15-year-old could work on small functional device. Every idea matters!

Next steps:

  • Check out the lesson plan for Week 4: New resources and classroom activities.
  • Check the curriculum and/or video1 (9 minutes) and video2 (6minutes) about solutions.
  • Now it’s your turn! Try to find some solutions with your students. Or, invite your students to work on their own. Don’t forget to submit your work here. This is the first step to securing your Level 2 certificate.
  • Be inspired by others! Throught the past years, many teachers have been submitting extraordinary activities like how to create eco-friendly soap, solar lights, bioplastics, banana peel fertiliser, message to a plant, a quiz, and a vertical garden! Find the activities here.
  • And don’t forget to submit your own activity if you did something new with your students
  • We’d love to see some pictures. Feel free to share a picture of your students’ work. You can find these here.

TASK PLANNING:

In Week 4, students focused on finding practical and creative solutions to help fight climate change. After understanding its causes and effects in previous weeks, this stage encouraged them to propose real actions that can contribute to a better planet.

Activities:

  • We explored the lesson plan and watched videos about innovative climate change solutions.
  • Students brainstormed different ideas to reduce environmental impact through daily actions.
  • They designed digital posters to raise awareness about climate change. Each poster included either a definition of what climate change is or suggestions on what we can do to help solve it.
  • Students presented their posters to the class to promote reflection and discussion.
  • We shared their work on the Climate Action Project platform, inspiring other schools worldwide.

ACTIVITY RESULT:

Students showed creativity and commitment while encouraging others to take action for a more sustainable future. Every idea counts!

Here you can see the posters they designed.
