Is there…? Are there…?

IS THERE A…? ARE THERE ANY…?

En aquest apartat aneu a aprendre a preguntar si hi ha alguna cosa tant en singular com en plural.

En el cas de que vullguem saber si hi ha una cosa en singular utilitzarem l’expressió: “Is there a (cat, table, etc.)? Després del sustantiu podem afegir el lloc, per exemple: “Is there a pen on the desk? (Hi ha un bolígraf damunt del pupitre?) Per a respondre utilitzarem o bé la resposta corta: “Yes, there is” o “No, there isn’t” o la resposta llarga: “Yes, there is a pen on the desk” o “No, there isn’t a pen on the desk“. Normalmente utilitzarem la resposta curta.

En el cas del plural utilitzarem l’Expressió: “Are there any (cats, children, desks, etc.) (in the school)?. Per a respondre utilitzarem com a resposta curta “Yes there are” o “No, there aren’t” i com a resposa llarga “Yes, there are cats in the school)” o “No, there aren’t cats in the school“.
