STEP 2: As part of our Safer Internet Day activities, we will be initiating a forum discussion for our students. The main topic of the forum discussion will be “Privacy in an AI Era – Personal and Sensitive Data in Generative AI Prompts”. Through this forum discussion, we aim to understand our students’ thoughts on the protection of personal data when using AI tools and to raise their awareness on this issue.

Also, you can share photos and videos of the “Safer Internet Day” events you held at your school on the Twinboard below.

Dear students, please share your thoughts on “Privacy in an AI Era – Personal and Sensitive Data in Generative AI Prompts” in the forum discussion below. You can read your peers’ opinions and write comments. Please remember to be polite and positive when writing in the forum. Thank you!

About Safer Internet Day

Over the years, Safer Internet Day has become a landmark event in the online safety calendar. Starting as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project in 2004 and taken up by the Insafe network as one of its earliest actions in 2005, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in approximately 190 countries and territories worldwide.

From cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity, each year Safer Internet Day aims to raise awareness of emerging online issues and current concerns.

Safer Internet Day takes place in February of each year to raise awareness of a safer and better internet for all, and especially for children and young people.

As part of this annual celebration, we encourage everyone – including children and young people, parents and caregivers, teachers and educators, policymakers, industry and others – to join “Together for a better internet”.

TASK PLANNING:

Safer Internet Day is a very important event at our high school, so we are going to organise a wide range of activities for both the project and the school as a whole.

First, we reviewed the activities proposed by our national organisation and decided to take part in the video challenge about the 017 helpline for online safety and the workshop on safe internet use that was proposed.

Next, we will share this activity with 1st-year ESO students. The coordinating student team will be from 4th-year ESO, and with the support of 2nd-year ESO students, they will organise the activity for the 1st-year group.

They will present the videos created by the eTwinning students to the 1st-year ESO students. Afterwards, we will play a card game about online safety, using the treasure hunt game developed during Code Week so that both activities are connected. The 2nd-year ESO students will explain how to play the treasure hunt.

We will also share the videos created by the three eTwinning classes on Padlet.

Finally, we will complete the activity proposed on the Green Digital Citizen project platform by watching a video and sharing our opinions about e-safety in the forum, both students and teachers.

ACTIVITY RESULTS:

After Internet Day, which was a very important event at our high school, we organised a wide range of activities both for the project and for the school community as a whole.

First, we reviewed the activities proposed by our national organisation, INCIBE, and decided to take part in the video challenge about the 017 helpline for online safety, as well as in the workshop on safe internet use that was suggested for schools.

This is the padlet to share de videos for the 017 challenge #SID2026

Next, we shared these activities with 1st-year ESO students. The coordinating student team came from 4th-year ESO, and with the support of 2nd-year ESO students, they successfully organised and carried out the sessions for the 1st-year group.

They presented the videos created by the eTwinning students to the 1st-year ESO classes. Afterwards, we played a card game about online safety, using the treasure hunt game that had been developed during Code Week so that both initiatives were meaningfully connected. The 2nd-year ESO students explained the rules and guided the younger students throughout the treasure hunt activity.

We also shared the videos created by the three eTwinning classes on Padlet, making them accessible to the wider school community.

Playing #Treasure Hunt

The Coordinator students from 2ESO, who prepared the card game “Treasure Hunt” and are showing their classmates how to play it. They are enjoying the activity together and having a great time.

After this trial, the 2ESO students were ready to show the 4ESO students how to play the Internet safety card game. The 4ESO students are the coordinator team for the global activity in the high school, and they will be responsible for presenting and explaining the game to all the 1ESO students.

Moreover, Esther’s 2ESO group is in charge of the dissemination activities for the 1ESO students. They have created a video challenge, which we shared on Padlet, so that the 1ESO students can watch it and learn about the 017 helpline during their #SID2026 session.

Finally, we completed the activity proposed on the Green Digital Citizen platform by watching an educational video and sharing our opinions about e-safety in the forum. Both students and teachers actively participated in this reflection, reinforcing our commitment to responsible and safe internet use.

We also participated in the INCIBE #SID2026 activity, a Safer Internet Day workshop delivered by videoconference and offered to schools all over Spain.
