Last day in Helsinki

Our partner Patricia has visited two schools in Estonia the Ehte Humanitaargümnaasium, where the English teacher showed them the school facilities and the Tallinn French School, where students learn 4 different languages such as estonian, rusian english and frech. Julia, the teacher has showed them some useful tools for students who have educational needs.

Fourth day in Helsinki

On this day the teachers have finished a seminary about different technological tools for the classroom. They have also know many apps that will put in practice in the class soon. In the afternoon, our partner Patricia took a boat to Estonia where they would continue the course.

Third day in Helsinki

The session started with an introduction of the positive methodology of Kaisa Vourinen. They have taught the participant a funny way to know the weak and the strong points of the students.

In the afternoon they visited Leppavasran Lukio school in Espoo where students study compulsory and non compuslory education. They have also the opportunity to attent to some clases and learnt more about the Finnish educational system.

Second day in Helsinki

The second day started with a visit to the E Kaltaan Koulu school which is located in Espoo.

The head teacher received the teachers with a special company which was the god they use to work with students who have special needs. They explained the teacher what they usually do in classes and also give them the opportunity to take part in a class. Furthermore, they visited the school as well as ate with some students in the school canteen. The session has finished with a workshop in which they have the chance to share their innovative teaching practices with the partners of other countries.

First day of classes in Helsinki

Yesterday our partner Patricia started the course Benchmarking the Finnish and Estonian Education with an introductory session of the Finnish educational system. She had the chance to learn the positive points of this system and why it is considered one of the best in the world. Apart from that, during the afternoon she shared some good activities, methodologies and experiences in order to avoid the early leaving school and the integration of students in the classrooms.

During the evening they have travelled to Suomenlinna which is 15 km far away from Helsinki by boat and it is considered a human patrimony by the UNESCO.

Welcome session in Helsinki

Yesterday our collegue Patricia had the opportunity to meet the teachers that are going to join this week the course in Helsinki.

During the morning and part of the afternoon they had the chance to visit the most important attractions of the city such as: the lutheran cathedral, the ortodox cathedral, the marker, the port and the library. Patricia told us that she really felt impressed by the library because it is a free space and free entrance and there are many thing to do there like listening to music, recording music, a game room for families, a sewing room and also a room in which you can print in 3D.

To conclude they tasted some important dishes of the country like the salmon or the reindeer meat.
